Of course it is.
This has been reported.
It breaks no rules.
Feel free to down vote this post. I completely disagree with it, but again, breaks no rules.
Cold turkey. Better for my mental health.
Social media is anything but.
I appreciate it. Yes, you were the one who said weird shit about me lol.
It has been a pleasure to help. I know I have things to regret, but my regrets are outweighed by my satisfaction of knowing I did the best I could.
I don’t see myself changing my mind. I did this to be a janitor. I would pawn off top moderator role as often as I could, because one person leading too many comms can only be a bad thing. Admin gave me more than I could or wanted to handle, and VERY publicly.
Everybody makes mistakes.
I gave a ban to show nobody is above the rules. I made the ban length commiserate of the infraction.
They needed more and more help, and I volunteered. I only have myself to blame.
Nobody forced me to moderate.
Completely agree. I’d rather have no social media rather than corpo social media
Oh, I’ll keep my mastodon account, but they don’t cross over, the way I see content there.
Thanks.
I guess I’m just sad that if I rejoined on a different instance and blocked .world, it would have 1/10 the content.
Reminder: I’m a lurker so any drama would just be more content for me when I’m just browsing.
I’m treating it as a break up. Cut all contact with her and her family.
Does it make sense? Most likely not.
Just tired of it, I guess.
Naturally, I’m a lurker. Moderation has been the most I’ve ever interacted on social media, and that started here.
I think it’s just best to make a clean cut.
as my account is a lemmy.world (as is yours!) account, and the communities I moderate reside on lemmy.world, when I talk about the admins, I am only talking about the lemmy.world admins
The admins gave me and others the decision. I didn’t ask for this.
As such, I decided to go with the least amount of headache, and have removed him from communities I am top moderator of. @jordanlund@lemmy.world is free to re-apply, and I will gladly discuss this.
The admins decided this without actually discussing this with me. They merely reminded me that as top moderator I had the power to remove moderators beneath me. They never mentioned to me that I would be taking on the role of top moderator of other communities until I was made aware of this post and the update.
The admins on NUMEROUS occasions have had no issues stepping in and moderating on our behalf, without discussion. The fact they want to defer now is odd, as this is a first-time occurrence.
I just didn’t want to be the final decider of a bigger topic.
This may be the final straw that breaks this camel’s back. I’m not sure how much more BS I can deal with.
No. I was merely reminded that as top moderator, I could remove Jordan Lund. I said then, and still say that I had no reason to remove him.
The fact that their decision was basically “It’s on you, we’re done here” was unwelcome.
This caught me by surprise, to put it mildly.
Still deciding on my path forward.
This was my mod action. Rule 2 is also about hard-line stances. This is the first time I’ve ever moderated for that reason, but it fit.
Wrong instance. There’s no such rule on this instance
That’s not a rule on Lemmy.world
With that said, you called them full of shit at the same time you told them to disengage.
You made your bed. Lie in it.

What I think the OP meant was
If they are planning violence on us, we need to be ready to defend and return the same energy back on them
Leaving up.

This post has been reported. The reason given:
Engagement bait
I mean, if you feel people shouldn’t be posting engaging content….
Leaving it up.
EDIT: people keep complaining. There’s no rule against this, and the meme stands on its own without the line though the word.

Not sure if this is on-topic, but I am leaving Lemmy
I DM’d db0 before posting this, but didn’t give them the substance of the post. Without knowing all that was going on, they approved me, but if after reading this they decide to remove it, I understand.
