Nothing pressing in terms of questions or concerns, but I was just wondering how things are at Fedecan and with the instance(s)? It feels like it’s been a hot minute since the last update (big or small), so I thought I’d show my interest in knowing how things are going.
Does anyone know of any useful extensions for Lemmy? The site is pretty usable without any extensions, but that’s what I thought about Reddit before I learned about Reddit Enhancement Suite many years ago.

Apologies if this is the wrong place. How do I create a community? There’s a community called NotTheOnion that is great at posting News articles that seem satirical but are true. There is another community called LeopardsAteMyFace which highlights dumb fucks getting what they asked for. I want to combine the two into a new community called NoFuckingShit. A place to post news articles that completely miss the point and state the obvious.
We received a message noting that the previous mod has not been active in some time, and that there is interest in building up this community. The admin team is hoping to add a few mods to the community during this process.
Anyone else getting these donation ads? Was it just shoved onto an update by the Lemmy devs, or is this coming from the instance admins? It doesn’t seem to show on clean browser sessions to lemmy.ca
Every time I post something for sale on Craigslist/Kijiji/FB I get reminded that this is a use case we should be able to handle. We could also offer a non-profit alternative for wider audiences instead of generating revenue for Meta. It could also serve as another channel for new users to our Fediverse, people not necessarily interested in social media alternatives. The American corporate services won't be getting any better over time so an alternative is likely to be needed.
In order to comply with the bylaw, they would need to hire someone on-call who could respond to emergencies within an hour, and who could check the carbon monoxide and smoke detectors after every stay.
Just curious, I don't know if this feature would be in fedecans or lemmy's court to implement. I just know that it would be quite helpful to further develop communities.

Hey everyone, with the upcoming closure of lemm.ee I just wanted to say thank you to all the admins and mods of all the comms on .ca, and users! You all are what helps to make this the best instance of Lemmy! Doing those jobs for free can't be easy (admins/mods), what with all the douchebags that tend to populate the internet and make life harder for normal people that just want to chill. I know I certainly wouldn't have the patience to mod even a small comm, let alone help to be an admin of an entire instance.
We have gotten a lot of new signups over the past few days, and we're all very excited to have you joining us! You'll find that people are more than happy to help you get started and learn how to use the site.
