Der Herausgeberkreis der Zeitschrift für Theologie und Kirche würde es lebhaft begrüßen, wenn Sie sich zu einem Gespräch über Ihr Buch Traktat über kritische Vernunft bereit fänden. Es käme dafür die Herausgebertagung Ende Februar nächsten Jahres in Betracht. Als Termine sind in Aussicht genommen: 20.-22. Oder 27.-29. Febr. 72. Da jeweils noch andere Geschäfte zu erledigen sind, könnte das Gespräch mit Ihnen auf einen Tag beschränkt werden.

im kommenden Sommersemester halte ich in Zürich eine Vorlesung mit dem Titel Theorien des Verhältnisses von Theorie und Praxis. Es versteht sich, dass dabei die von Ihnen vertretene Position vorgestellt werden wird. Ganz besonders nützlich wäre es aber, wenn Sie im Rahmen des die Vorlesung ergänzenden Vortragsprogramms selber das Wort ergriffen.

Als Referenten sind ein katholischer und ein evangelischer Theologe und zwei Philosophen vorgesehen. Das Präsidium des »Österreichischen College« hat mich beauftragt, Sie zu bitten, eines der Referate zu übernehmen.

Die MISCELLANEA MEDIAEVALIA präsentieren seit ihrer Gründung durch Paul Wilpert im Jahre 1962 Arbeiten des Thomas-Instituts der Universität zu Köln. Das Kernstück der Publikationsreihe bilden die Akten der im zweijährigen Rhythmus stattfindenden Kölner Mediaevistentagungen, die vor über 50 Jahren von Josef Koch, dem Gründungsdirektor des Instituts, ins Leben gerufen wurden. Here the philosopher and physicist David Z Albert argues, among other things, that the difference between past and future can be understood as a mechanical phenomenon of nature and that quantum mechanics makes it impossible to present the entirety of what can be said about the world as a narrative of “befores” and “afters.”.

This book is an attempt to get to the bottom of an acute and perennial tension between our best scientific pictures of the fundamental physical structure of the world and our everyday empirical experience of it. The trouble is about the direction of time. The situation (very briefly) is that it is a consequence of almost every one of those fundamental scientific pictures--and that it is at the same time radically at odds with our common sense--that whatever can happen can (...) just as naturally happen backwards.
