The idea that churches are using money for this, rather than helping people in need is repugnant
Come on, it is just a measly 700 million dollars! Imagine how many more tithers we could get in here to… help even more of the poors! Now if you will excuse me I have to go receive my new private jet.
Ya’ll have ads for Jesus in the US? That is crazy as fuck.
Yes but they are widely ridiculed and are great material for satire
And they’re also very effective, apparently.
Sarcasm? Religious membership has been in decline in the USA for a long time and the fact that they make these ads in the first place stinks of desperation.
Like with all ads, if they didn’t work they wouldn’t keep happening.
Actually, marketing is a great way to make it LOOK like things are working. Your comment is exactly what a shareholder might hear in response to that same question.
And yet theocracy is one of the pillars off the current regime. Which got elected twice. Sounds pretty successful to me.
Nah now you’re just being silly. Consider the actual facts of the top issues of the 2024 election

Religion is not one of them, the closest thing to it would be abortion, which was only a top issue for democrat voters concerned about republicans views on abortion. Top issues for republicans were inflation and immigration.
I mean shooting clergy and not allow them to visit prisoners goes way against the historical norm.
Source?
Whats wild is that I’d seriously consider going to church and playing make believe with them if they were putting 700mil towards like feeding and housing people. I wouldn’t even make fun of it or break kayfabe if I felt like being there was accomplishing anything worthwhile
But they don’t want to feed and house people, that’s pointless. Jesus said there will always be poor and suffering. But saving SOULS is FOREVER, and dying unsaved is irreversible!
It makes perfect sense in the context of their theology.
I fucking hate it.
