Maryland State Golf Association
Junior Grant Program
The Maryland State Golf Association (MSGA) is proud to announce the launch of the MSGA Junior Grant Program – a first-of-its-kind initiative designed to deliver impactful financial support to promising junior golfers throughout Maryland and Washington, D.C.
The purpose of the grant program is to provide financial assistance to junior golfers throughout Maryland and Washington, D.C., who have the playing ability to compete in junior golf competitions at the regional and/or national level but whose participation is limited by financial constraints.
Applications will be reviewed by the MSGA selection committee to ensure the process is mission-aligned, credible, and athlete-focused. The inaugural application period is open from February 5, 2026, to April 15, 2026, with grants to be awarded in May 2026.
About the Program
The Maryland State Golf Association Junior Grant Program is a new initiative created to support junior golfers who are MSGA members by expanding access to the game and encouraging continued development through competitive and educational opportunities. This program is intended for high school players pursuing Division I college golf scholarships and/or selection to Team Maryland, part of the USGA’s U.S. National Development Program. Grants are awarded to eligible junior golfers and are designed to help reduce barriers to participation while providing meaningful opportunities for growth within the game.
The program reflects the MSGA’s ongoing mission to serve Maryland and Washington, D.C., golfers by investing in the next generation and supporting pathways that promote long-term engagement in golf. The MSGA will award four grants of up to $5,000 each, with Thru Golf serving as a program sponsor, to help break down financial barriers and expand access to high-level playing and development opportunities through a simple, mission-driven grant process.
