lol hi happy er 2025 :') no serious updates today, i just added a new affie and thought i'd do an update since it's been ages. life has been crazy and all-consuming, not leaving me much time to focus on creative projects, but it's starting to level out (slowly) and i hope to get back to working on my little websites soon.

long time no update (: i've been mostly working on other projects, but decided to revamp a couple things here on this website. i added some pictures to the about page, and added a shit ton of 32x32s to link out for retired friends. it's almost 10pm now, though, and i'm too tired to continue working on it, so i'm just gonna push my changes for now and iterate. that's what we call agile development, folks.

i actually made some changes to the main / landing page of my domain → mooncandy.net. it actually looks extremely similar to how it was before, but it has proper code now, and not just some random utility classes i stuck together with bandaids. eventually i'll make it a proper collective, but it's been a random stub page for so many years, i feel weirdly sentimental about changing it too much. i also added counters to all of my websites, bc why not?

i have now refactored this website to use eleventy + webc components, although i spent a lot of the time fighting with vscode and breaking things. it's only been a few months since i first coded this website, and i'm already mortified by a lot of it. i was able to delete hundreds of lines of code by leveraging components (yay), but my styles are a hot mess. some classes i have no idea if i am even actually using (why do i have both a .text-box AND a .textbox?!) my next goal is to clean up my styles on this website, and decide on some common paradigms and naming schemes across all of my projects, so that i don't need to memorize how i implemented something in 5 different places & generally make everything more maintainable. there are also just some things that i want to tweak because they look weird to me visually, but i can do those things simultaneously. ok, self indulgent little ramble over. bye!!!!!
