Connect with leading scholars of Austrian economics and libertarian political theory.
Founded in 1982 and headquartered in Auburn, Alabama, the Mises Institute is a nonprofit academic institute dedicated to Austrian economic research and education that furthers individual liberty, open markets, and international peace. We work in the tradition of Ludwig von Mises and Murray N. Rothbard, two of the twentieth century’s most consequential economic thinkers.
Independent and nonpartisan, we bring together a global network of scholars, professors, and researchers whose work addresses the most pressing questions in economics, monetary policy, political philosophy, and history. Our research and commentary have informed public debate on issues ranging from central banking and inflation to trade, regulation, and the proper limits of government power.
Our Scholars
The Mises Institute’s faculty and affiliated scholars include economists, historians, philosophers, and legal theorists with academic appointments at universities across the United States and around the world. They regularly publish in peer-reviewed journals, author books, and contribute commentary on current events through the Mises Wire and the broader mises.org platform, which reaches millions of readers each year.
Our scholars are available to give media interviews, expert commentary, and analysis on topics including:
