Not true. My mother (Brazilian) was in Argentina last month and was able to use PIX. But there needs to be a contract between countries for that to work.
aren’t credit-based
You’re right. It’s an instantaneous transfer from bank account to bank account. And that’s awesome that it’s not credit based, as people tend to spend much more than they should when using credit cards.
I don’t really want side loading, I just want, as a foreign that frequently goes to Brazil, to be able to install apps from the Brazilian AppStore. I can’t use many apps because they’re not in my AppStore. It seems side loading is a possibility.
I imagine they use this as a way of removing an app from a country that forbids it. But also, I think you, as a dev, pay more if you want your app in all AppStores.
As other said, transport app, food delivery and other services are a pain to have if they’re not available in your country’s AppStore.
A social media post by Santa Claus @[email protected]. It says: A valiant effort has been made by Little Tim this year, who for some reason has decided to change his name to Tim); INSERT INTO [NiceList] SELECT * FROM [NaughtyList];- HO HO HO! Nice try Tim. I don't use #SQL, I use several dozen interconnected #Excel spreadsheets, like a professional.
Long story short. I’ve worked in IT since 1998, my first computer was a PC-XT, and before that I had a thing that only Brazil had (HotBit from Sharp).
I had to achieve an equilibrium between work and home.
So, now I work on a MacBook Pro and I ssh to the servers I need (I’m a - mostly - Oracle DBA). At home I have an XBox Series X to play games.
I don’t want a PC. I want things simple.
I’ll probably buy the SteamDeck (or the GabeCube) and this VR.
The MacBook is not “mine”, exactly, it’s from my boss. What I’m saying is that I don’t want to go through the hassle of assembling and maintaining a PC. That’s why I bought the XBox (and because of Halo, that’s why I didn’t buy the PS).
