I think they're testing out different regions to see if they'll get sued before trying to do this globally

It's only truly free when the write protection screw is removed

One would hope for a more broad institutional change like schools or workplaces not renewing contracts, but individual action matters too. Closest schools ever got in the US was with Chromebooks, and at least a few places in the EU are ditching MS for better options.

Then blame TP-Link, right?

Using those kinds of glasses would be a great way to expose a narcissist in real time; I've personally done certain things in my own home as a child to prove someone else's guilt, and this kind of stuff would've made it simpler. Ethical use solves problems instead of creating new ones.

Misread it as nutshell

Johnmannesca ,
@Johnmannesca@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah, basically what I've gathered is nthat it's up to federal-level courts to determine his actions to be within reason, then the state charges can be issued. I fear this will go to the us supreme court, which regardless of outcome is a long time to let a murderer roam the streets terrorizing society.

Some sources are saying Jonathan E Ross now, it's like they are intentionally giving misleads (not you guys, you're awesome!)

Johnmannesca ,
@Johnmannesca@lemmy.world avatar

Yet he's magnetized to car doors like a fucking moth to a lamp? Nobody will buy that shit. Even Bush (Yes, that Bush) said, "Fool me one time, shame on you, fool me two times shame on me." Implying that when the second time these things occur, even the utmost conservatives know this isn't someone fearful, just a complete fucking fool.

Johnmannesca ,
@Johnmannesca@lemmy.world avatar

Well there are public records of him having a property loan somewhere, but I don't know if it's in the same state, there's history of him living near El Paso, TX at least a decade ago, so this is going to be a while before that can be deduced. Good idea though, I commend you for efforts to uphold the rule of law!

Yeah, a well regulated militia has well regulated blood sugars, right?

We own the hardware, but not the experience anymore — Big Tech keeps building smarter, more connected devices, but the user experience feels more intrusive, more confusing, and less human ( www.windowscentral.com )

The line between helpful tech and quiet surveillance is blurring — and our devices no longer feel fully under our control.

Tizen is actually pretty fun to hack tbh

Have you considered local 2 player games?

Johnmannesca ,
@Johnmannesca@lemmy.world avatar

Oh I'm certain Jim Crow knows, given the unfortunate history of the civil rights movement in the US, folks like Sammy Younge Jr were assassinated and their killer would be acquitted by an all white jury.

Host Planned Parenthood fundraisers with the fundraising goal set at the projected costs of the renovations, then make a statement of how it did nothing to promote the general welfare of Americans to renovate a roughly 200yo house and not even have a PBS special to show for it!

‘Invasive, deceptive, and unlawful’: Texas says your TV is tracking you illegally, and is suing to stop the dreaded Automatic Content Recognition ( www.techradar.com )

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a suit on Monday against Samsung, Sony, LG, TCL, and Hisense, claiming in a press release that they "have been unlawfully collecting personal data through Automated Content Recognition ("ACR”) technology."...

So basically everyone far enough South? Narrows down pretty easily once you can determine where Tejano radio stations are broadcast, no awkwardly invasive tech required at all, just good old classic detective work that only requires a modicum of critical thought!

Low MHz RAM soldered in? Holy anti-consumer practices Batman!

Johnmannesca ,

Is that why filibusters can last so long?

Johnmannesca ,
@Johnmannesca@lemmy.world avatar

We don't all obviously spray cheese from a can, some of us are from or near Wisconsin, the place where Monroe cheese is from, which is to say very well regarded in the international community. Whatever bad things Americans did to cheese is basically either a Republican's doing or the interests of companies like Kraft or Nabisco who are cheap and want to can a product that lasts without refrigeration. See also, Old English cheese spread.

When the 'fun' side of reddit became unrecognizeable, then gradually after using Lemmy all I really do on Reddit is post in more useful places where I can share advice on chronic illness, and its really unfortunate there's not much in comparison for communities here otherwise Reddit would be deleted already.

Political comments shouldn't turn into vaguely threatening DMs, so many people on there nowadays need their teeth knocked out like some airpods for that shit.

No amount of hate justifies them, and anyone who dares to try will be paying civil fines for the rest of their natural life.

Some folks call them Kolaches if you live far enough in the South US. Definitely a trend that followed with Eastern European migrations.

Linux gamers on Steam finally cross over the 3% mark ( www.gamingonlinux.com )

Free Windows 10 support ended for most people this past month, and the trend line of Linux usage has been quite clear leading up to this, as people prepared for the inevitable. An increase in Linux usage is also correlated to a drop in Chinese players, which did happen this month a little bit, but Linux usage is also trending...

Yeah, even more casual games like Balatro are proof of that, despite how easily you can port a game of that nature otherwise, people will choose to use proton because it's still able to sync with their progress and symlinking is too inconvenient to consider unless you're running like 2gb ram or something.

Yu-Gi-Oh! players too, especially if they do 5m combos every time they're going 1st.

Yugioh and snap kits were my faves back then, now over 20y later I'm still playing yugioh and soldering, so I'd say it was a worthy investment of my family and my free time. Problem-solving card text is probably good for understanding programming logic, too.

I guess the British colonialists should've said no to the French by that standard. War is nuanced, and survival doesn't make us picky.

Some of us need prescription meds (that are already expensive) from places like Germany, so this gives these particular people the choice of being treated medically or being housed, which I argue neither is a healthy option because we are weighing two physiological needs against one another.
