FoolsQuartz ,

Honestly, libraries can be. Big, you can visit whenever, they have weekly events and a community that you can get to know.

EDIT: But that's probably a profoundly obvious answer, sorry haha.

Game testing, definitely something AI won't be able to replace - assuming that video games continue to be made for a human audience rather than an AI one. Same applies for all sorts of testing I guess - wine tasting, movie test audiences, art critics

Best stories. for me, all have some sort of romance element. Can be cheesy as hell, doesn't matter, it elevates the story for me.

Character motivations have to make sense.

A movie is also LEGENDARY if it has some sort of unique or interesting cinematography, but it isn't essential for a great movie.. I'm mostly interested in the storyline.

    FoolsQuartz ,

Don't know if i would describe it as a friendship, but squirells are one of the easiest creatures to form a (one-sided) business relationship with because of their ravenous hunger.

Step 1; have cat flap/dog flap
Step 2: leave nuts in cat flap for
That's it. They will straight up queue outside your back door for free samples.
Optional Step: Place nuts in garden or in cat flap when you think squirells are around, watching. This means they'll more quickly associate you with the food.

    Also Crows. Absolutely amazing creatures.

Because we like feeling like we use all of our letters equally. Of ABC is used for lists we use XYZ for unknown variables

If the eight planets of the Solar System were renamed, what do you think the new names should be?

The (English) names of the planets were dubbed by ancient Romans (and presumably before that the Greeks) based on their ancient gods that few people believe in, hell, most people don't know why the planets are named such anymore....

    FoolsQuartz , (edited )

Uranus was (...) named after the father of Saturn and the titans. I guess going from grandson to grandfather when going from Jupiter to Uranus?

I was wondering what the reason was! I'm glad there's a good reason for all the names because I've always felt that they're all a good fit.

    • Venus would make more sense as "haephaestus/vulcan" IMO

    • "Ceres" the large-and-round asteroid doesn't make much sense, because obviously no grain or agricultural stuff going on there. How about - "Persephone/Prosepina," since it's locked in the asteroid belt much like she was trapped in the underworld, and yet also has great potential to be a planet of its own.

EDIT: Apparently Ceres is a dwarf planet now, and Proserpina is an asteroid... i would rename that one though.

I think - given how many astronomical bodies there are - it might be a good idea, looking forward, to just label planets based on their proximity to their capital star. Boring answer, yes, but it's the only thing I vibe with other than MVEMJSUNP

    So:

    • Sol 1 = Mercury
    • Sol 2 = Venus
    • Sol 3 = Earth

    OR

    • Rocky Sol
    • Acidy Sol
    • Earthy(?) Sol / Life Sol
    • Deserty Sol
    • Gassy Stormy Sol... oh wait they're all gassy and stormy from this point onwards.

Earth should almost definitely be called Terra btw... in-line with the other Roman Gods.

    FoolsQuartz ,

    Great in-depth answer

What is more important to you, working hard for a better position or work/life balance?

Mine is work and life balance. At least in this stage of my life, I prefer work and life balance. That's why I've accepted a lenient schedule, I leave early when it's acceptable to, I know that my hard work ultimately is accounting for nothing except to make people who're not me richer than I'll ever be....

    FoolsQuartz ,

As an 18 YO, the first option. A short 3 years later snd i know the second option is the right choice. Maybe I'll get my energy levels up again one day, but know that the world is rigged against us right now - and ti some extent, collapsing - so hustling likely won't get you what you're worth. Take the time to be comfy while things burn

    FoolsQuartz ,

That being said, stuff like Dilbert has always convinced me that management is easier than the work below it 100% of the time. Do you think there's any short course you coukd take that would make the process of management more clear to you?

    FoolsQuartz ,

I was a little kid but our country was richer then so i'm guessing life was good

    FoolsQuartz ,

I bet having the hands right above the head does make it a bit easier to draw, tbh. Means you can draw the whole character's torso if you want to. Other than that I'd say it's just dramatic, like double begging/pleading.

How I would bescribe myself: "behold! I will now write my name on my arm."

    How I woukd describe myself:"The Disillusioned-with-reality guy."

    FoolsQuartz ,

Lol maybe they should censor movies on planes since its literally in public

I quite enjoy movie and show sex scenes / nudity - they're more special than porn and can easily be more artistic than pornography.

There is actually a very high upper limit on how much sex can fit into a show, IF it is a "meaningful" sex scene and adds to the plot... you could theoretically have 50% sex scenes if it was a show about sex or a very sex centred episode. But that would be a bit like watching porn, which is just one reason why movies tend to cut away or interrupt the nsfw action. (Anothee reaskn is that they can't be bothered to film it all, because it's not actual sex.)

Case study: I actually tried to watch a show largrly about sex. "The Girlfriend Experience." All of the storytelling and excitement of this series goes into the sex scenes, which they honestly should have had more of, given that it is a show about sex.

The rest of the show was incredibly flst and boring - LITERALLY just people conversing with one another in a sterile corporate high rise.

old-ish movies: If you watch movies from the 70s and 80s you'll notice a ridiculous adherence to having as many female stars or background characters showing their breasts as possible. It reminds me of how people (e.g asmongold) get about video game character design - they think the lack of smutty stuff is a personal attack.

I'm not sure what to think of this gratuitous nudity, because i do of course like it, but it's very tacky and obvious. Doesn't waste as much time as unnecessary sex scenes, i suppose.

    FoolsQuartz ,

Not as intense as traitors but another great british game show is "Would I lie to you" (you're going to tell me now that you are british and that's it silly to explain it like a foreign concept, lol). The only other thing i remember watching that's competative in the same way as traitors is Race Across The World.

Some Anime shows I've loved: Romantic Killer (Netflix), The Disastrous Life of Saiki K* (was on netflix for a good while). Witch Watch is an okay anime i watched recently, sadly feels a bit unfinished but it's just that new.

    • Would definitely recommend SpyXFamily - it appeals to all age groups - but I'm guessing you will have watched that.

Random reccommendations just because they're so good:

    • Dropout TV, which is full of comedy and gameshows. (You can get a taste for it from their YouTube channel)
    • Daredevil S1-3 (Disney+)
    • Deutschland '83,'86,'89. (was on channel 4 iPlayer, don't know where else) & Slow Horses (Apple TV)

What are your favorite healthy snacks?

I saw my doctor recently and while talking about what a lazy fat-ass I am, he mentioned something about replacing the crap I usually snack on with healthier snacks like seasoned air-fried cauliflower or something like that. So what are your favorite healthy-ish snacks that can be made relatively quickly when I feel like shoving...

    FoolsQuartz ,
    • Do oatmeal cookies count?
    • grapes, raisins or nuts mixed with raisins
    • golden sultanas are the best, but i like them best when mixed eith nuts or some other types of dried fruit.
    • Bircher, AKA overnight oats made by soaking yoghurt, oats,p & fruit in apple juice and refrigerating over several days

Anything fermented or pickled is a delight to eat and you can make them at home very easily as long as you're sanitising your jars in boiling water between each use. A youtuber/tiktoker(?) Called Kirsten Kaminski is how i learned about this stuff. She has a cookbook if you're interested.

Would definitely recommend pickled onions, they're absolutely stupendous.

Air dried cauliflower i wouldn't go near but i would try it as a pickle or ferment food.

    FoolsQuartz ,

Raw Carrots, absolutely an S+ tier healthy food

Cigarettes - I'd probably go with cigars now, anyway. I'm evolving!

Also, industrial sabotage on behalf of an environmental cause. Okay that's not because i'm scared i guess i've just been too lazy. Also no point making other workers' lives harder, most of the time. Point me in the direction of a truly worthy cause and I'll bring a sledgehammer

Although his thesis was on designing hardware to function under a different set of physical laws.

I can imagine them digging it out of storage in the future before we make a trip to another universe

    FoolsQuartz ,

Don't worry about it, just say what comes to mind

    FoolsQuartz ,

Most people honestly don't use clear lines in their logic. Even for many laws and ethics, we don't. I personally think this is okay because using the "drawing a line" thinking is restrictive, meaning it doesn't allow you to grow so well, intellectually-speaking.

A common way people fail to keep to their lines in the sand is when they justify their side, politically speaking, to do something that they've demanded the enemy cannot do. This is bad and unfair. But then again, I'm sure a lot of you will be guilty of this way of thinking throughout your life - we're only human.

    FoolsQuartz ,

because, unironically, they get kicked out of criminal club for not dressing the same way.

Have you ever seen those cop shows where someone has to go undercover in a drug trade or something and they get accused of being a cop instantly? It's like that. The cops, having not spent a while acclimatising to criminal culture, are caught unaware by the rules at play.

So, ironically, even the people who like to believe they're rebelling against society, are very adherent to strict societal rules like dress code.

    FoolsQuartz ,

For example, I once heard a story about how a guy about 17 years old was dating his teacher who had a twelve-year-old daughter, and I heard they got married and had another child.

Where was that? Cos I'm getting "Rural America"

TBH it would probably be fun unless your step-children are WAY older than you, I figure the guy in your example had it best. And I can't help but think "lucky her" for the teacher mom.

There's the argument that you're sacrificing dating people you're own age but some of us just vibe better with older ladies.

My English teacher at high school apparently married an ex-student about 1 year after he finished school. Nothing underhanded, they just met up again and struck it up. She was built nicely, like Sofia Vergara.

    Cries Britishly

    FoolsQuartz ,

Yeah I don't really like this one. I've liked it the last 2 or 3 times I tried it but I had one that went too overboard on herbs and it felt like how an actual toad would feel to eat

    FoolsQuartz OP ,

I relate heavily to this. Feels like there's no time for me to catch up with modern programming

    FoolsQuartz OP ,

That's awesome. Not everyone can say that they enjoyed raising kids

    FoolsQuartz OP ,

I would love to be a youtuber but i suppose it can all go away just like that. I would struggle to stick to just one area for content, but j suppose the audience chooses thst bit for you based on what's successful or not

Video editing is surprisingly fun, but i think tiktok ruins the fun - don't you have to do it in a tiny little phone screen? It's not right.

    FoolsQuartz OP ,

I think people only regard it as good at the "escort" job title. I'm lead to believe thst the distinguishing trait of an escort is getting to choose whether they, well, escort a client or not.
