I can't root my current phone, but its over month out of date. I'm pretty dependent on a number of currently 'sideloaded' apps, what should I expect really? Also phone recommendations for US are appreciated, maybe not google hardware but I may try the graphene route.. before I just switch to a pager and MP3 player maybe
E: reading through some more on this, it doesnt sound like the worst. I'm sure this will inevitibly be used regionally on some basis initially then expand. But it is pretty frictionless for some scam app to be downloaded and trick say my grandpa into installing some real shoddy adware+whatever else.. that was fun to deal with. But also to act like google play store doesn't already have absolute muck is a joke
I really need this. Each time I try messing with GPT4All's "reasoning" model, it pisses me off. I'm selective on my inputs, low temperature, local docs, and it'll tell me things like tension matters for a coil's magnetic field. Oh and it spits out what I assume is unformatted LATEX so if anyone has an interface/stack recommendation please let me know
Okay pardon the double comment, but I now have no choice but to set this up after reading your explainations. Doing what TRILLIONS of dollars hasn't cooked up yet.. I hope you're ready by whatever means you deam, when someone else "invents" this
Thank you again for your explainations. After being washed up with everything AI, I'm genuinely excited to set this up. I know what I'm doing today! I will surely be back
Curious on the experiences of those recently migrating to Linux from Windows 10, Intel-based MacOS, etc. How is it being on Linux? Anything surprise or frustrate you?...
I was never one for HDR so I never even paid attention when I bought my monitor, switched to Bazzite and was surprised KDE supports HDR.
Firefox is still an issue on Bazzite, but PopOS came with some really weird sleep issues where it would sometimes even require a good kernel kill. That may have been something with having installed for an Nvidia card and changing to AMD.
A windows 11 error message stating: "Terminal is currently not available in your account. Make sure you are signed in to the store and try again. Here's the error code, in case you need it: 0x803F8001"
Okay be real, you want to do all your networking config and drive pools and high availability all through the CLI?? There's still a reason I use the CLI in the GUI but thats just nuts
I got in a political argument with some clown on Facebook. He managed to retrieve my wife's cell phone number and our home phone which is unlisted and technically just provided by our Internet company that we never use....
As i don't want to divulge too much, some information will be sporatic/somewhat improper.
My family dealt with a neighbor, which of whom I can only describe as a plurality of serial harassers. By that I mean we were not the first, nor the last family for this entire family to explicitly target and fixate on for at least months on end. This was before 2016 to add (they ended up right where you'd expect).
Not just a not ring camera. Seriously DM me and im more than willing to help on the technical side of setting up a Frigate local NVR. Shouldnt cost your more than $200. If you go the home assistant route, it makes it trivial to set up an alarm system with zigbee or simular devices.
Now i have to be careful, among other things the neighbor was having their kids steal our mail, we recorded evidence of such, but they seemingly had a friend in the PD. Im not saying to expect this or necessarily take my advice, but especially being a red area, the cops will not help you if it comes to it. They will be 15 minutes after a shooting is called in.
We had evideable damage and video of one of their kids trying to break in our garage.
They still put my parents enployement at the time in jeopardy.
You get the 2A side of that, but ideally you want to avoid that entirely.
We eventually put up proper cameras, and some of the derangement subsided, floodlights are of particular use.
You cannot let yourself live in paranoia. But similarly you cannot be caught with your pants down.
We were in a ranch, thus no upstairs. They would shine flashlights at our windows. Laser pointer to the eyes would stop them quick.
Your situation is a lot more - forward. But there are pieces of information i believe you could use to your benefit in a preparedness scenario.
Again, DM me if you need any technical help, I'll be happy to
PS definitely be done with FB. Theres a lot more shit than this one clown to do with that place. Ive been trying to avert my SOs father from something similar as well, but FB is another tool of this admin ib many ways
Thank you, hopefully never will have to go for that wringer again, it was very odd seeing state cops be dismissive of clear video evidence to say the least
Unless Im missunderstanding.. why? You are using a reverse proxy and https for your services? If you aren't, that's a terrible vulnerabulity you've made yourself. Why would you need to access a web service on any other port than https? A reverse proxy allows you to use subdomain routing to access different services behind your domain. Your companies firewall is certainly blocking you from accessing nonstandard ports.
Which is exactly why funding a apartheid regieme is so alluring for these ghouls, they've had trials for this tech before we've even known its prevelance
I tried searching for answers as to why these machines are reaching out to numerous locations despite not using PrusaConnect. Location lookup returns the expected Czech, as well as location across the US. I recently also set a friend up with with an Elegoo printer and that was expectedly noisy as hell, but I was surprised with...
Huh thank you. Now its not like I already have my own NTP instance that I seemingly don't have the option on the printers for.. not sure why I didn't to look at the destination port frankly 🤷♂️
Haha now I feel like I overreacted. That mentioned Elegoo printer had me on edge, 100s of https requests per minute without an attached account even. Time to tidy up my services more and see if I can point them at my own ntp
How much metadata do you need until its PII? What subnets exist and which devices are potentially leverageable are valid points in a threat model.. maybe not entirely suited for everyone but I'm sure as hell my employer is unknowingly greatful for
Well yeah, me needing to lock down this network properly is why I ran up on this, but also being someone who hates reseting the stove clock after a power out, I wouldn't bat my eye at NTP requests really.
I just want you to know I read and appreciated your comment. I'm very glad my naiive latenight post about NTP ended up making some pretty interesting content for people learning privacy basics
The elegoo saturn 4 ultra is what I got, been filamenting for years but new to resin. I've finished about a dozen prints, stupid easy to get going with its autoleveling. It did lock up completely and failed the job seemingly after i firewalled it, but hasn't repeated since. The quality is immaculate, printed a 4 inch tall Sears tower and its got every little antenna. Though the slicer wasn't playing with wine, so I needed to use a windows VM unfortunately

While you could certainly set something up to call 911 automomously, I would personally recommend against, since now all liability for false calls lands on you.
In my instance, I use the Alarmo card, which has the option to enter a pin to disarm (and even physical keypads) , and pushes a emergency notification to all phones

I'm just shocked Fedora is playing well with a quadro series card, and I'm not looking back. If there's some bottleneck, it's no larger than the one on my general experience with windows. Though I would very much like to be runnung a non-tainted kernel.

Android is the devil when it comes to it. My S22+ certainly did have "Meta App Manager" and "Meta Package Installer" hidden as system services, which could only be removed using ADB.
For the record, the "actual fucking fascists" didn't materialize during this last election, or the one before it, or the one before it.. etc. I remember when the dems campaigned on "no human is illegal" in 2016 but by time of this last cycle, they were capitulating on immigration and the border to attract the elusive moderate republican to vote democrat.. a strategy that failed our democracy in the end.
..appeals court sent the issue back up the chain because of the business name aspect. “Since this claim [the use of the name “Taylor Kia of Lima”] does not fall within the scope of the arbitration agreement..
Bravo. What an interesting way to anull arbitration.. now I wonder how this could play with online services' arbitration agreements..
