Our Mission

The Metastatic Breast Cancer Network (MBCN), a volunteer, patient-led advocacy organization, seeks to address the unique needs and concerns of women and men who are living with metastatic or Stage IV breast cancer.

Not just being alive... LIVING!

Pragmatism. Realism. Optimism.

On March 8, 2018, MBCN’s Shirley Mertz was among the speakers at Susan G Komen Chicago’s first ever Metastatic Breast Cancer Conference. Shirley shares her own story, offers tips for getting the best care and showcases the Metastatic Breast Cancer Trial Search engine. Bonus: Shirley also touches on the Metastatic Breast Cancer Alliance’s forthcoming Connect registry. It’s a very informative 15 minutes!
