Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•Your car is spying on you – and Israeli firms are leading the surveillance raceEnglish
221·2 days agoYour car, your pathetic smart watch, your phone obviously, your neighborhood FLOCK cameras, and your friends/families devices too. It wasn’t long ago a story made the rounds that a person’s Toyota was reporting telemetry back, which was then sold to their insurance company, who used that data (basing on above average brake pedal use) to raise their rates.
Unless you’re in a room by yourself and any/every computer is running Linux, you are currently under surveillance. American company, Israeli company, doesn’t matter.
Short of pitchforks, torches, and organized groups at (at least) hundreds or thousands of physical locations, pulling heavy guillotines I don’t know what to suggest other than give up the modern conveniences.

Why “upgrade to AI” when you can achieve exactly the same thing with a lobotomy?

WOO those are better questions than I considered answers for.
I live in Wisconsin, it’s cold. They don’t need to be super warm- I have “hands might die” type gloves for the really bad shit- I’m looking for I guess driving, using a phone, super comfortable- looking for something that doesn’t feel like nothing but stitched seams on the inside. So the whole touch screen thing- I see videos of riders being able to use their phones but the last two “works with screens” pairs I bought- didn’t. AT ALL.
