5ยท1 month agoI hope your community is able to stand in solidarity with you and assist you in getting stable housing and food security. I find Food Not Bombs and other similar orgs to be really helpful where I live.
If youโre unsure where to start, meeting your neighbors is also good praxis!

6ยท1 month agoYes! For anybody reading, even if there arenโt any anarchist orgs nearby, anybody can walk up to an unhoused person and ask them what they need. Or at the very least offer to buy them a coffee.
Handing out hand warmers on cold days and gatorade or popsicles on hot days is a small act that can make a big difference.
At the very least, have a chat with our community members who are going through a rough time.
Dry socks, toothpaste, basic first aid kits with bandaids and alcohol wipes, tissues, feminine hygiene products, hats, scarfs, almost anything youโd take camping and can spare is almost always wanted.
This is just a rough guide https://www.doinggoodtogether.org/bhf/homeless-care-kits
I had a convo with a police officer - he kept saying โTransientsโ.
His complaints about them being a problem wouldโve sounded way different using โPoor peopleโ, or โhave notsโโฆFood not Bombs website isnโt https anymore but I got a great article for anybody whoโd like to start helping out.

And if the group grows too big for itโs britches
