I use kde for my main desktop. Although I will probably switch to a window manager when I get the time to learn it.

I tried gnome once because I thought it was better for laptops (I used asahi for a little while on my macbook) Although I quickly changed to kde because I could not live with the horrible window tiling (only half and half no quarters) I realise now you can probably fix this with extentions but I didn’t get around to it.

Not really, I can only add it as a thumbnail. Not as a properly attatched and expandable thumbnail.

I play beamng on windows. My steering wheels force feedback doesnt work ootb and neither does the multiplayet mod. There are work arounds but they are complicated and I havnt got around to properly trying them.

Also arm support, I really wanted to use asahi but a lot of my apps just dont support it. I was going to look into recompiling some of the open source apps I use like my authenticator but havnt gotten around to it yet.

Almost perfect, the only issue I have is some of the games I want to play not working so I still need to dual boot windows.

That is a lot of money for me, especially if all I need it to do is simulate the on button. Surely there is some really cheap arm based device that has an ethernet port and can therefore send WOL signals.

I don’t have home assistant setup in my parents place, that is a nice feature though I might use that for other things.

I already have 2x2tb hard drives, a singular sd card is not enough for me I need some level of redundancy even for my backups.

I don’t really take issue with dozens of posts by newbies asking the same basic question over and over. I used to be one and am occasionally back there again if I start a new hobby. Hopefully newcomers don’t get pushed off by overly sensitive moderation.

Is zorin-os that good? I don’t really like its model of bundling a whole lot of free software together and then charging money for it.
