I claimed to have never heard of this Bud Spencer Genie movie when my pal Justin suggested we watch it.

I soon realized that this was a film that had deeply haunted me as a child, due to the genie turning two henchmen into cockroaches that are later stepped on by their bosses.

I recalled nothing else.
Primo deranged cinema.

A savvier and smarter film than one might expect from the well-trodden regional slasher spoof genre. Particularly from one shot on a iPhone. Pours a bucket of cheap (but actually funny) laughs on pitch perfect pastiche, and elevates its comedy with some shrewdly calibrated performances. 

If this was an authentic regional horror flick from the early 80s, I’d have bought the Vinegar Syndrome disc. 

May genre festivals not overlook this…
