-ending pmo. It’s two hours of their individual lives but not nearly enough about the two of them together / shared history / interaction
• Ok yeah it’s a hot movie but maturing is realizing that Oliver is a big giant fucking asshole. The last time I watched this I was 14 and thought so highly of Oliver and now at 20 I feel the exact opposite :,)
• Cinematography and sound design choices are so stunning and I feel envy towards them because all I need in life is a hot dreamy Italian summer
• Elio writing desperate notes after overthinking all day…
This movie is sooo Preachers Daughter like the parallels are unmatched
I thought this was gonna be so pretentious and slow but it was a beautiful coming of age story
Besides the whole cannibalism to symbolize love trope I mostly thought of this as like an appreciation for outsiders and having to live your life isolated from the rest of the world because you were born with something wrong inside of you without knowing why, also ties into the idea of generational curses and trying to escape the cycle only to repeat it
