A long time ago I created some YouTube videos and achieved a total of 14 subscribers. (This was partly a confidence building exercise and a push to learn vocal demonization)
Anyway I’m looking to create a gaming series with Hytale going into early access and might also do Terraria when the new update happens.
I’m wondering what instance(s) would be good to upload to.
From peertube.org I’ve seen tube.fediverse.games, vid.northbound.online, video.gamerstavern.online and arson.video were suggested. (Technically so was a gay french instance for some reason but I’m not counting that)
Also I’m interested if cross posting across instances is possible (as I don’t want to upload a video to multiple instances taking up large amounts of valuable storage space and bandwidth across instances).
I’m also thinking about uploading different content to different places (arson.video seems more like a place for sillier clips and series). I’ll definitely watch some of the more popular content in each of the aforementioned instances but I’m still interested in your thoughts.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk
I’m still way too new to PeerTube so my comment might not mean much.
My guess is your best bet might be your own instance - from what I’ve seen, a lot of instances, understandably, seem to have upload limits.
https://dalek.zone/ seems to have the most videos available while allowing new sign-ups. Right now they’re going through a big update so the site isn’t loading well. I believe they have a 20GB upload limit.
https://video.4d2.org/ seems to have the second most videos available while allowing new sign-ups. They have a 20GB upload limit.
https://peertube.wtf/ would be the third that’s also in English. It does not look like they have an upload limit, but they have a rule about being active on their site.
I’m on peertube.wtf. Total upload limit: 100gb Daily upload limit: 20gb
Yeah 20GB seems like a standard. I’ll do a test recording to make sure my current OBS setting works and estimate how much total video time 20GB will last me
You can’t cross post your videos. Your uploaded video will be available on other instances as well, through federation.
