  • You need an emotional outlet. If crying doesn’t work for you, perhaps some sort of art or music will. The simplest thing is to take an old pen and the back of some old printer paper and try to express your feelings in pen strokes. You don’t have to draw anything. Just scribble. You could learn or relearn a musical instrument, master the wheel in a pottery class, or just go down in the basement and sing to the furnace while the dryer is running. Creative outlets and expression can be an excellent way to cry without crying. Maybe origami, or wood carving, or paper mache, or baking cupcakes. Embrace the creative and put yourself into it.

  • When you can control where the polling locations are, you can drastically under serve areas that don’t vote republican. This discourages or even makes completely impossible voting in some areas. I live in a wealthy republican suburb. In the last 25 years there has never been much of a line to vote at any time of day. I can usually get in, vote, and be out in 15 minutes. Within a 20 minute drive of me, there are polling locations that have lines which take many hours to get through. Many people have to take time off of work, or leave their kids home alone to vote. Some people can’t stand in line for that long due to health issues.

While mail in voting enables traveling businessmen, college students, military, the elderly and sick to vote - which probably doesn’t overly favor either party - it does disrupt the polling location engineering which is intentionally designed to favor one party over the other.

  • Sometimes my feet can be really smelly. I hate it when I go to someone’s house where they expect me to pull my shoes off. Yes, odor eater powder helps, but I never know if removing my shoes is going to knock them out. Especially in the summer. It is better to just never go to other people’s houses.
