The front garden is not space to get cozy in the UK, especially if you live somewhere where neighbours pose for compo face for the local paper, have a triple head crease at the head neck neutral zone, keep white goods or sofas in the front garden etc. I expect if you explore the area where this photo was taken, there is a pub with a flat roof and no other amenities than a chip shop, bookies, vape shop.

For the record, I absolutely love places like this

  • Shoes ok downstairs, but usually off except for if I’m about to go out and roaming about finding things. Guests do what they prefer and I usually mention it’s fine to leave them if they prefer. I think the fact that I have dogs is important. My floor normally has paw prints and hair so I wouldn’t expect a person to take off their shoes downstairs, it’s pretty much like the dogs leave their shoes on spoiling it for everyone.

I might get some flak for this, but this nest looks like it needs a lot more work. After reading the caption and scrolling down I had a little chuckle, I expected something grander. She knows best though of course!

  • The climb is so trivial for him that it is just easy money. I’m an amateur climber and I would do this if I was given the permission and 1/10th of the money.

Yes there’s a chance of things going wrong, but it’s like betting against Anthony Joshua in his Jake Paul cash grab. Maybe even less risk than that.

His previous solos were more outrageous but always treated with a degree of respect and preparation. It’s what has put him in a position to be able to do this exhibition.

Your outrage is exactly the kind of thing Netflix want and it’s why it’s been done live.

  • I don’t think this is the only time this has happened to him? He’s an absolute legend of the game and it is noteworthy (to me at least) that he hasn’t gone off the rails, although Russia’s perspective is that he has.

There might have been some lead in the chess pieces in Russia. Fisher was completely mad and played his famous Spassky match. Next came Karpov, who isn’t exactly mad but has some pretty horrible takes on global and social issues. Kasparov defected (? Not sure that’s the correct term), and then Kramnick is completely mad and a disgrace to the game.

Disclaimer to say I don’t really think there is some connection here, but you could maybe make one if you wanted to.
