    Deeply misleading headline. Just the manufactorer also produces for the military aand are also allowed to sell to private entities, who then smuggled the ammunition to Mexiko.

      Basically all small arms ammo calibers used by the military are available to the public.

      “Military ammunition” sounds scary until you realize it’s only made to be acceptable for military purposes, and the truly excellent grade ammunition is made for civilians.

      Hear me out but miltary supplies being contracted to overproduce ammo that ends up killing civilians is bad actually!

        Of course that’s bad. That’s exactly why it is important to know how the system can be exploited. From the headline it sounds like the failure is on the delivery system to the military.
