I got a Quest 3 recently after having to give up my Quest 2 a year ago and I鈥檓 noticing that VD is using a lot of CPU power even when it鈥檚 not actually doing anything. Is it encoding stuff even when there鈥檚 nothing to send it to or what?

I always have to close it when doing flat space stuff because it causes some slow down in games that already don鈥檛 run great (like arma 3).

I am not sure I understand the issue. When VD is not running it uses zero bandwidth and zero cpu/gpu. When VD is running, even if not running a game, it is streaming your desktop still.

Why? Without a connection to stream to it shouldn鈥檛 be doing shit. Note, I am talking about the VD Streamer app that runs on the PC, not the actual VR application itself. If the PC is running and the headset isn鈥檛 even turned on, the streamer is using a ton of system resources when it shouldn鈥檛 be doing anything.

I understand and you鈥檙e are correct it should not be using many resources. Mine is not, so if yours is, something is up. Suggest you head over to the VD Discord.
