Andy praised her directly last year alongside his other pro GOP comments:

Has he or the offical Proton account adressed their current position on the GOP now that the Trump admin has fired their most prominent antitrust proponent?
If you read the Guardian article, Gail Slater did exactly the job Andy Yen said she would when he praised her as a pick for the antitrust chief role.
She’s tried to block a $14b merger between Hewlett-Packard and Juniper Networks stating their business sector is far too consolidated already “and would create a duopoly”, among other positive antitrust actions.
She was an objectively good pick for the role, and is now being ousted because she’s doing her job too well, and that’s awkward for Bondi and Trump as they want to have the freedom to rubber-stamp any merger they like, once the tolls (contributions, concessions, no doubt direct bribes we’ll only later find) have been paid.
His other statement that you highlight has also been proven to be factually accurate. Big tech has been tripping over their dicks to kiss the Trump ring since before the swearing-in, and continue to do so every day.
If anything, the only response due is a “yeah ok, our bad, we blew this all out of proportion and context” from all the rabid anti-Proton weirdos.

So to answer my question, No, Andy has not followed up on his praise of the GOP as the party that will break up big tech now that they have ousted their one good antitrust hire. its blatently clear that Trump can be bribed with inagurations/ballrooms/etc to take no action at all against tech. His big talk was always a push for cash, nothing more. Turns out you can literally kiss Trumps ring, and that will be the end of any enforcement action.
It’s okay that Andy was wrong. We can all learn from our mistakes. I would just like him to own it to restore trust in Protons leadership.
That’s what @[email protected] is saying. He wasn’t wrong. It’s the people that blew this up because he approved of a Trump pick, even though this pick happened to be the right person for the job.
I don’t think he cares much for the GOP otherwise.
