I’ve always thought that as much trouble as Calvin can be, I’d love to have a kid like him. It would be a font of endless entertainment like the kid I already have.

I wasn’t doubting that his name was Rothschild though. Still, added context is added context, so thank you again.

2·5 days agoIt would really be funny if the radio stations just ran a 4 minute clip every hour just repeating the last line. “With Liberty and Justice for All.”
I wonder how long it would take them to backtrack. “No! Not like that!”
I use a spreadsheet. Mainly so I can see where my money is going/how much I need to get paid to continue not being homeless.
To be very fair though this isn’t a skill I learned so much as one that was forced on me by the military before they’d let me “adult”. By adult I mean live on my own.

But also, there’s not that many countries making their own military hardware anymore (fighter attack, electronic attack, stealth, or even just bombers). The ones that do are all pretty much on a fascism kick (Russia, China, USA).
And while we’re at it, The SU-57 would like a word. Because it’s the main reason so many countries do want the F35.

And the commenter above is correct. If AI could do these jobs, so could cheap labor overseas. So the $80 an hour plumber is much more likely than the outsourcing that resulted in the destruction of Detroit as a manufacturing hub.

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•Microsoft AI chief gives it 18 months—for all white-collar work to be automated by AI | Fortune
1·5 days agoI am so curious about what happens when companies can’t buy computers because RAM, Storage, and chip sets are so expensive, and therefore can’t continue to buffer this bubble. Your tech is literally starving the people that you need to use it of their ability to do so but cutting off the supply to tech used to access it.
The prices of all computing are rising, wages continue to be stagnant, and every company making hardware is giving all the hardware to AI firms, assuming people will just use what they have. But there’s no new supply when what they have becomes obsolete or breaks. This is a shitshow. This is like babies first capitalism for these fools. It’s not even remotely sustainable.
And you want to put the people most likely to be forced to use the tech you’re schilling to be out of work? Make it make sense.
And some just want to pick and choose (for their own mental health) how and when they interact with politics instead of mainlining it from every quarter.

Games@sh.itjust.works•Valve wins legal battle against patent troll Rothschild and associated companies

I’m genuinely asking because someone else in another thread claimed they were of no relation and I can’t seem to confirm that.
I can’t eat mushrooms. I’m allergic. I am not safe.

I think the other place tried to solve this by weighing a certain number of votes up or down.
So if a post got 10 upvotes, the 11th would weigh less in the algorithm, meaning that it was harder to burry something that was already perceived as upvotable. If a post of comment got 5 downvotes, the 6th etc would “weigh” less in the algorithm making it harder to bury posts just by downvoting them. They also labeled posts as things like “controversial”, “popular” etc.
I don’t know that this is a solution, in part because our “algorithm” doesn’t really function on a karma system, and in part because I don’t have the kind of knowledge it takes to understand the finer details of how this arm of the fediverse works under the hood.
But I do like the idea of limiting the number of downvotes an account can make per day, and also perhaps automodding accounts that do upvotes or downvotes at a rate that a human user couldn’t.
