  • Or just like, read any political theory outside of their extremely narrow bubble. There’s a lot of revisionist marxist theory which keeps the core concepts without the Soviet baggage. Anyone who is still out here trying to defend Soviet statecraft is likely more interestes in relitigating the cold war than actual political theory.

Cowbee’s schtick is so transparent. He’ll write (vibe) long posts like this which make him seem perfectly reasonable, like of course MLs condemn the Soviets for this and that! And then turn around and defend this shit in other threads, and will certainly never correct a fellow ML on these topics under any circumstances.

  • Eh, a significant portion of the anti work crowd does seem to think communism is when no ditch digging. This is why communism really requires specific material conditions, because as long as tedious, dangerous jobs exist, there will always be degrees of worker alienation, no matter how much effort the state puts into propaganda which attempts to convince them otherwise.

  • Even that isn’t really clear in practice as I understand it. The genetic drift from proto chicken to chicken likely means that there is no single instance of proto chicken birthing chicken, even if you could fully sequence the DNA of every proto chicken. It’s kind of an inconvenient issue with DNA taxonomy, because if we really did have that full DNA history, there would likely be several different populations with overlapping genetics and we might actually choose to draw that line for a number of different mutation combinations when they start statistically creating certain traits, instead of a single mutation. But oh no now we are back to descriptive taxonomy so let’s just move on.

The reality is that we haven’t really observed speciation in a controlled setting, so the current framework almost requires us to sample the evolutionary timeline at long intervals, or it starts to get sloppy.

It’s because the sport is now about handicapped distance to stop people from just overshooting the hill entirely. They could just build bigger hills if they wanted more distance but what’s the point? With no handicap it just becomes about who has the balls to jump closest to the flat without breaking both femurs.
