That’s true, but it’s also free.

You won’t get your Internet cut off because some copyright holder sends your ISP a complaint.

They aren’t. I’m sure if it went to court that lawyers would find a way to convince a jury otherwise, but we all know that’s bullshit. Booster packs are gambling.

Why expose yourself to legal risk by torrenting media (which involves uploading which is distributing) when you can find sites that stream it for you? Just go to Yandex and look up “blah stream” and you’ll find tons of sites streaming whatever you want.
I do this because I’ve tried to watch movies with online friends but every major streaming service I tried won’t let me share my screen and stream. They all break somehow. I’m not sure if it’s intentional or what, but it doesn’t matter.

I use git in the terminal. On Windows I used git for Windows. I even used that MSYS CLI it provided as my daily driver terminal.
But my vertical tabs!
Yeah, a joke, if you look up you’ll see it.

Makes me wonder where the actual break even would be. Like how long does making one random number take versus sins lookups. Fuck it, do it in parallel. Fastest wins.
No, I don’t think I’d agree. Something gave birth to something with a mutation that caused it to lay eggs that we’d call chicken eggs that produce chicken. Itself was born from a creature that didn’t lay chicken eggs.

Even the US used to ban the export of strong encryption algorithms. You used to have to download the stronger encryption algorithms separately. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Java_Cryptography_Extension
Yeah but in the same way we extend the discussion to be “egg laying creature” instead of chicken, we can extend it to “any sort of shelled baby” from egg and the logic still holds.
That chicken’s parent laid an egg though so it wasn’t the first egg laying animal.
Some non-egg laying animal gave birth to an egg laying animal due to a beneficial mutation. So the “chicken” (or rather, any egg laying animal) came first.

I think I locked myself out of my account. I’m only logged in on my old computer and I’ve deleted the app from my phone. I saved my security key (I have a session security key field and security-key.txt in my 1password) but Element didn’t seem able to use it to reactivate. I would lose all my chats. Which wouldn’t be the end of the world, but still, I’m just demonstrating that I’m tech savvy enough to save things I’m told to save but I either missed saving a recovery key, wasn’t told to, or the process is just lacking. Regardless, like I said, I’m just demonstrating that it can be tricky.

Using Stoat’s main server raises a privacy concern because it’s UK-based and AFAIK lacks E2EE—UK authorities could seize server data without our knowledge.
When the alternative is Discord that’s no different. Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.

How do you even do it though lol, it hasn’t asked me too.
I don’t wanna test it. I’ve heard of folks getting nasty grams from their ISP about it and having like X strikes before getting cut off. What VPN do you use? I’ve been curious to try one.
