World News@lemmy.world•Look how much Canadians hate the United States nowEnglish
2·9 天前Hey I’ll use this comment; I totally wondered if it was a reference to CBB but there wasn’t really a chance to ask without derailing
It’s close enough to the gag that I caught it. You did well
Firstly I’d like to apologize for being critical first, I just saw you so excited and didn’t want you to get let down.
You can make collars out of paper (or whatever you have handy) and then center the seedling in it and fill with dirt. You’ll want to try to take up almost all of the stalk, so they may need to be different heights for each seedling
And any extra light will be beneficial, even just a desk lamp set as close as you can overhead without burning them, usually 3-4 inches is good
And they do grow fast, and especially long and spindly when they’re reaching for light
Good luck!
They’re really stretched! Make sure they get a lot of bright light. The ones that have flopped over might need some support. You can bury their long stems in some more dirt
Good work getting them to sprout! Home grown tomatoes are amazing

1·10 天前Damn really? I was just thinking about it the other day and thought they were all gone. By Macy’s, do you mean a standalone store? Or do they have a small section in a mall store?

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•stalagTite and stalagMite: The "t" in stalactite looks like a stalactite, hanging from the ceiling. Similarly, the "m" in stalagmite looks like a stalagmite, rising from the floor.

From their op, “I do have ssi but most of it has to go towards my parents”
It’s not the gotcha he thinks it is, that’s for sure
You did a great job obscuring them!
I didn’t even get a hint of that credit blurred at all. I saw your comment and watched it with intention looking out for the credits and it was on the 3rd rewatch I caught them. The first one is more obvious because it was in the open space, but the one with Jenna was imperceptible at first and the only I noticed was because it was brought up
Nice work with the OC!! It’s very smooth and something I’d expect to see in highqualitygifs
I’m very much close to that demographic and it’s horrifying
I had to rewatch that bottom one a few times, it completely escaped me
It’s delicious and the perfect temperature, thank you 🫶
I can’t watch, but I think this is the right clip:

3·19 天前There was also that one where he rhymed “things” with “things”
There was another woman I think about sometimes who was very upset about maga hats and I thought she was overreacting. I also owe that woman an apology
Awww, I thought the template was just the ballet dancers so we could put a little Bovino in there

News@lemmy.world•Nebraska lawmakers vote to reduce minimum wage for workers under 20
2·21 天前My partner showed me this a couple years ago. Now, we’ll be talking or I have a thought and the conclusion is “America” to which the follow-up is “want to put it on?”
It hits me harder each time I watch it especially how things have further eroded since then
Edit: I was curious and checked out the comments. They were surprisingly wholesome but I didn’t scroll too far. However one sent me down a bit of a rabbit hole and I found something that made me do a double take:
From:
https://allthatsinteresting.com/jim-crow-photos
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_W._Geary"A racist pro-Clymer campaign poster for the 1866 governor's election."

The text from that image reads
THE TWO PLATFORMS
Every RADICAL in Congress VOTED for NEGRO SUFFRAGE. Every RADICAL in the Pennsylvania Senate VOTED for NEGRO SUFFRAGE. STEVENS, FORNEY & CAMERON are for NEGRO SUFFRAGE; they are all Candidates for the UNITED STATES SENATE. NO RADICAL NEWSPAPER OPPOSES NEGRO SUFFRAGE GEARY said in a Speech, at Barrisburg, 11th of Angust, 1866-“THERE CAN BE NO POSSIBLE OBJECTION TO NEGRO SUFFRAGE”
It’s the writing style. If that is the type of material that one reads in their formative years it makes sense that it’s emerging again in the twilight years
Ps. I’m sorry I spent so much time on this it just struck me and I had to explore. Made me sick at some points. To be clear, I support everyone’s right to vote but the above quoted message was demonizing that sentiment. Also to be clear, Geary was a white man and won that election
I have a problem with this step
When I send it to QA the sample that I take to make sure it’s correct tends to be too big and throws off my recipe

Holy shit, someone who knows psychostick!! 🤘
