Yup, just pirate it at this point. I’ll update that in the list.

Yeah, no prob

Not very indie:

Great game but Motion Twin are dicks.

I’ll keep them in mind, but I stopped using readarr because the sonarr/radarr approach didn’t work for me for books. I read individual books more than subscribe to everything an author does, and manually downloading them is not really a problem.

What problems did you have? I just put the services I wanted in a compose file, configured sonarr/radarr to use prowlarr and my torrent client and done.
Later I added lidarr and readarr but ended up removing the last one. I found it easy enough, and the modularity makes it easy to use only what you need.
But always voting for the lesser evil means that, as long as there’s a greater evil, the lesser one gets a free pass and does not really need to change nor fight anything the greater evil does. In fact, it’s in the lesser evils best interest to enable and nudge the greater evil into even greater evil, because it will let him do whatever and still be the lesser evil.
KCD might be up your alley, it’s pretty fun if you like RPGs.
The Witcher 3 has nice combat, is 3rd person, story driven without a ton of stats and has nice graphics.
New Vegas has serviceable gunplay (it’s old and not super good as a shooter) but is very good when living in its world, doing quests, etc. There are some numbers, though.
Youa said no Ubisoft, but far cry 2 and 3 are good.
Crysis 1 is awesome and I hate that cryrek COD-ified Crysis 2.
Eh, I like book Isildur. He kept the ring as a memento, not as a weapon or anything like that, but imo it was still the power of the ring that influenced his decision of ignoring the advice of Elrond and Cirdan when they told him he should destroy it.
No, I meant it literally. He kept the ring as a war trophy/heirloom after his dad died killing Sauron. Years later he had doubts and tried to go to Rivendell for counsel, but was killed on the way there.
He never tried to destroy it.
Edit: I remembered the movie scene. I was basing this on the books, in the movies he did try and fail.
Isildur never even tried to destroy it, though.

Were you born last week?

In the DDR maybe. In the west they were so on the run that they ran themselves into being NATO’s chief staff officer, working for the US, getting into politics or just dicking around in South America.
This reeks of dark ages pop history talking points

Lol, Von Der leyen would not sanction the US if Trump stole her undergarments, the EU (sadly) won’t do shit. Maybe individual countries would wake up, but if they are like Spain, half the politicians live to lick republican boot.

Then Europe could use its immense cultural heritage, history in unionizing, strong labor laws and social security networks (that should become EU wide) to attract skilled people.
That won’t ever happen, the people running the EU are neolibs through and through and they’ve been dismantling all that for 30 years.

Yes, until they do like Google with android
Capitalists being in power is just regular ol’ capitalism though
If Bezos suffered some catastrophic business collapse and went broke, would he suddenly no longer be a capitalist?
Depends, if that collapse meant that he can’t live from his ownership of capital anymore, he would not be a capitalist.
Long story short, Motion Twin gave the game to Evil Empire around 2019 (iirc) to handle its development, so they are the ones who made every update and expansion from the first dlc onwards.
After like 5 years of DC being developed by EE they released the “the end is near” update, but said that it was not the last update and that they were working on more stuff, including wrapping up the story.
Then Motion Twin announced a new game, and shortly after they cancelled any work in DC. The goodbye posts included some shutouts to the new game, so the cancellation of DC was seen as trying to kill any competition to their new game. One ex-dev said that MT were being a bunch of dicks to EE and claimed that the cancellation was indeed to give more attention to the new game.
