I have considered abandoning Lemmy multiple times. It’s a bit too chock full of far leftists who think it’s fine to do unprovoked violence to far right people under the “punch a Nazi” slogan. I think the assumption is that they were underage, trafficked women.

They get exposed to Hollywood’s party/drug culture very early, that’s for sure. But I think the home environment is the most critical factor. If you’ve got psycho parents who are trying to live vicariously through you or simply see you as a cash cow, they’re going to fuck you up way more than Hollywood can.

Also, there’s something to be said for the psychological impact of becoming successful, having your “15 minutes of fame,” and then fading into obscurity. That’s got to mess with your self-esteem big time.
