Its a mix. Some devs are definitely lazy but from what I have heard there is also a big push for devs to deploy faster and to actively use AI or be punished. So there is incentive to just get code out to meet deadlines/expectations and move on to the next task. The amount of work being put on an individual dev is rising with these accelerated expectations in mind, and getting another dev to review your code takes time from them and their own stack of tasks so code review quality has fallen greatly. Not to mention the high likelihood that AI is also doing code reviews to make up for this and we can only guess how many reviews get approved saying “you’re absolutely right!”

Ah I see. Unfortunately this happens a lot. The photo may show they can fit their hands inside but there are a lot of times the pockets in person are still just so so small. Its quite disheartening.

I’m not saying these pants don’t exist, I was just pointing out that I’ve never seen them exist at both the size and level of availability you described originally.

I’ll still check out the ones available locally to me that seemed hopefully sufficient and get back to you if they work out!

Hey, thank you for listing them. I’m still looking through them and a lot just say “with pockets” not necessarily with “large pockets” which is fine but I’m willing to bet they’re like every other womens pant in a large store that “has” pockets which is barely enough to fit chapstick in.

Some of these pants are locally available to me so I can go and physically check but just pointing out that off the bat containing pockets doesn’t mean they contain sufficient pockets.

I’ll drop this link to a video that goes over pocket fashion history but from what I know of it the option of large pockets largely never existed for women in a meaningful way. By the time we as a society moved away from men using under garment bags we never gave women the same option.

But yes, currently it’s popular. There is pressure to wear form fitting clothing. There is pressure to have a bag to accomodate the lack of pockets. This will continue a perpetual demand for small/false pockets.

I’m not sure that they’re necessarily “widely available” or available “from any major retailer” I searched what you suggested and found a bunch of drop shipped results on amazon, walmart, and random sketchy sites.

I guess to me “widely available, almost anywhere, from any major retailer” sounds like these pants have saturated the market enough that I should be able to find them at any department store but honestly I have never seen large pocket options for women in a physical store. If there are physical stores carrying this option that you know of please let me know because I would love to be able to go try them out!

  • Definitely chill at home with grandma on this one. You stand to gain precious memories with a loved one, being in a comfortable and controlled environment for your menstrual needs, and you can probably bond with grandma over your favorite candies.

Round one is fun and all but it will be there for a long time. As far as arcade slang goes it depends more on the crowd you’re with in my experience. I go often for ddr and the more hardcore players generally know not to use rhythm game based jargon with newer players.

  • I just lost my dad to cancer at the end of August. My last conversation with him, I asked him questions along the lines of “Are you in pain? Are you scared? What is worrying you the most right now?” My dad was very resilient to the end. He assured me he was in no pain and was unafraid, that he mostly felt very tired. His biggest worry was that my mother would stop eating and I had promised him to make sure she eats and is taken care of. He seemed much more relieved by that news than anything else. He then started talking mostly on his own, he reminisced about the life he lived, regrets he had, things he is proud of. He started to fall asleep mid story and I let him rest not knowing he wouldn’t really wake up again. 2 days later he passed.

If I were you I would absolutely call. You can use the questions I asked my dad if you think your dad would be receptive to them. I think at the end of life, people want a space to express how they really feel even though normally the subject of imminent death is very uncomfortable. I think, had I not asked him what was worrying him the most, he might have died holding onto that unvoiced stress. That’s just my experience though. My heart goes out to you and your family. Please take care of yourselves and my deepest condolences about your father.

  • Oh absolutely true about smx pads being expensive. I got mine both 2nd hand from fb marketplace at a bit of a discount.

Outfox just released a new major update that fixes a lot of things but I would say they still have a good amount of work to do. They’re trying really hard to modernize stepmania and so far they have some impressive results. For me I like that they support much higher frame rates than stepmania which pairs well with my 144hz monitor.

For my smx pads I did make custom arrows that change when pressed. I didn’t do any of the fancy gif ones but they’re not hard to make/use. They have software that you can use to edit the pad’s LEDs and the underglow.

Probably the best feature of the smx pads is being able to set custom ranges for sensor sensitivity. I can basically control the definition of an arrow press which is pretty handy
