Private equity:
- Rental buildings are bought by these companies and filled (or not) for Air BNB, luxury housing, etc. This leaves no affordable housing.
- They price fix the shit out of these locations through rental software.
- Prices rarely go down, and if they do, itโs not much.
- They push for a building frenzy so they can park their money and rent out the bottom floor. Doesnโt matter if some homes are empty if the price doesnโt go down and youโre price fixing.
- Wonโt let you work from home because it fucks with all of the above.
- Only beholden to the people who are in the club, they can do what they want with no repercussions.
All of the executives now probably frothing at the mouth over it.
