And obvs need some way to weed out people with “nearly 3 degrees”Eh, i’m a bit the opposite. Government is about representation of a people in a location, as the land changes the needs of the different sets of people change.
A popular view is that it seems silly to have a few councillors representing only a few hundred people. I don’t, per se, agree with that. Placing an equal weighting on place as well as people seems important to me.
I think it seems silly to call a few councillors representing thousands, or even tens of thousands of people any sort of Local Government as can happen in metro areas. I think thats a fairly popular view, but just like ‘people’ i also think it seems silly for a few councillors to represent larger and larger tracts of variable lands. Somewhere between those pillars is where well sized LGA’s live in my view.

@Gorgritch_umie_killa yeah, Nedlands, before they got dissolved, abolished, or whatever the word is, I believe.
For me, the impression I continually get from my local council is that they may be good people with good intentions and set good policy, but the Operations side of the town just go about doing whatever they want anyway. It doesn’t seem to matter who gets voted onto it, not a lot of visible change.Oh wow! I mean, i can’t really comment because i don’t understand the history in that situation. But a rogue, and unaccountable public service can’t be a good thing.

Pure hearsay from people I know that know people that worked there, but yep, she was as completely unhinged as she appears to be.Oh yeah, that interview earlier this year was a wild affair! Got in the car and listened to the replay of it morning after and i’s just gobsmacked how off the charts she progressivley got!
