  • I think either Chomsky had a glaring blindspot when it came to Epstein…or he didn’t actually care as much about his politics as he seemed to.

Epstein was one of the primary architects of the State-level “manufactured consent” that was one of the cornerstones of Chomsky’s political philosophy. The man literally helped Steve Bannon to weaponize 4Chan into propagating the Pizzagate conspiracy theory, as a smokescreen for his own proclivities…as well as one of the biggest drivers of right-wing outrage. This became an omega-level psy-op against some of the most gullible, and ultimately some of most volatile people in the US.

This man, that Chomsky considered a friend, was literally the kind of Devil he railed against for practically his entire career. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt…but how in the fuck did he not recognize the man sitting across from him, for what he was? Was Epstein just SO charismatic, that he could fool an expert on recognizing manipulative propaganda?

    It’s hard to believe.

  • Even if the story is mostly fake, it doesn’t absolve the fake guy of being in the wrong.

There’s a difference between someone being accused of this if they were legitimately carrying the girl to safety…and someone being accused of this because they grabbed a girl by the arm and held her there for no other reason than to yell at her for not being careful.

Even if your intentions are technically good, you still have to be aware of the consequences of your own actions. This isn’t to say, “Don’t help people”. It’s more like, “Are you sure what you’re doing is actually helpful?”
