idk docker has so much weirdness edge cases you have to build for, that you can do but I feel like a game should be pretty easy to just statically compile and call it a day. but I guess steam already has their runtime that tries to do the same thing

I don’t understand this I use it for rocket league occasionally and it all just works ™ ? I prefer Valve 100% to slopnite developers but the launcher seems fine to me. (On Linux Heroic is unironically better than steam which has a bunch of random bugs every few weeks)

The modern Westerner lives one of the most opulent lives in the world history on the back of cheap third world labor.

edit: If you believe the Trump admin has a plan, they are trying to thread needle by devaluing the US Dollar just enough to incentivize manufacturing, but keeping it high enough that the average US consumer doesn’t feel the hit. They then leverage tariffs for preferential trade deals with other countries. I don’t think its really working but its the only way you could revitalize manufacturing in the west at this point

Similar to how China let Tesla in to force its domestic market to compete (Which now makes the best EV’s in the world) America should do the same. Let BYD or Xiaomi sell cars in the states, Musk and co. can then compete or lose to the Chinese. With musk’s close ties to the admin I doubt this will happen.
