All my homies hate circumcision
My oldest had to have one for medical reasons. He had the option of attempting to deal with it without surgery but decided he didn’t want to deal with that.
Doing that to a baby for no good reason is despicable and I hate forever the 19th century prudes that decided it would be a good way to keep teenage boys from choking the chicken.
It’s very cool that your son had the option. I’m glad he is healthy.
Growing up I was made to feel weird for not being cut.
Turns out every girl I’ve dated / been with doesn’t care (except one, but she was toxic in every single way possible).
So I guess it wasn’t as big of a deal as I was led to believe.
I kind of prefer men uncut, but that’s not like something that factors in when picking a partner.
I was the same. My father and brothers cut, not me. Nobody to teach me how to use it, take care of it, etc. In the end, I got cut because I had a problem with continual yeast infections. I far prefer it cut compared to uncut.
I thought this would be the case for me, but when we decided not to for our son, only one person we knew agreed with it. The crazy part is most people would start by saying something along the lines of “ooh it’s a boy, how’s it going down there?” Like they feel bad about it. But when I tell them we didn’t suddenly its all about hygiene and aesthetics.

The hygiene thing is a myth. Yeah it can get dirty if you ignore cleaning it but no more so than any other body part. It’s basically entirely a post-hoc rationalization from people who had it done to them when they were babies and weren’t told it was because way back when some Puritan dipshits thought it might keep teenage boys from “being sinful” in their youth.
I’m not cut, and same with my son. Why do people ask so much I will never know. I think the third (or fourth I can’t remember) time I was asked I responded with “My parents were kind enough to not mutilate me, why would I mutilate him?”
Then I responded with “Well, I’m not” after that. Seemed to be an effective way to jolt them into rethinking it.
