Hi, I'm Critical Kunic!
I'm a D&D YouTuber with a lifelong love of game development and over 25 years of programming experience. I wrote my first code at age 8, back in 1997.
My gamedev journey started with the obscure RPG Toolkit, moved to RPG Maker 2000, and then to BYOND, where I helped closed beta test the original Space Station 13. SS13 inspired my biggest BYOND project: Hurricane, a generically named survival sim where players build a shelter to ride out a devastating storm. It came from my habit of drifting off into space in SS13 and trying to build my own stations out in the void. At its peak, Hurricane had 50 concurrent players.
In 2009, I jumped to Unity with the release of Unity3D Indie. I thought it would be my forever engine, and for 17 years it was. The runtime fee fiasco in 2023 eventually pushed me to try Godot in June 2025, and I've been there ever since.
Most of the games on my itch.io page come from game jams. They're small, but each one carries a piece of my heart. I hope you enjoy playing them as much as I enjoyed making them.
