My thoughts these days go to the medical professionals who, despite the pressures and stress they're facing, are putting in the effort and time to understand our struggles, take them seriously, and try to help to the best of their ability, sometimes even beyond. All medical professionals should be like this; I'm glad there's at ...

I have a confession: I was able to get a part-time contracted customer service role thing for work over the holidays. It ends in two weeks. It's been just over two months and even though it's been about 5 hours each day, it's left me completely dysregulated, exhausted, and burnt out. I've been dissociating a lot. I won't get too much into it, but it has been weighing on me not being able to be present here and elsewhere online.
Mostly I just want to remind everyone that you are loved, you matter, and you are beautiful. heart-sickle
I love creature features! It's based off a Stephen King novella, iirc. I remember watching it years ago. You ever see American Werewolf in London? It came out a few years before Silver Bullet, and is a horror-comedy along the same vein. Old movies like that are a trip.
That feels like a major invasion of privacy, and no amount of good intentions makes that okay. I'm so sorry that happened the way it did, you deserve better than that. It should be your choice to make those decisions about sharing and asking for accommodations rather than basically having it done for you without your consent.
Do you have any shared interests or common ground that you think would be easier to talk about without any pressure? It's awesome that you want to connect with that person, and that they're supportive. I'm sure they'd be open to you taking an interest in them and getting to know each other more even if it feels awkward at first. It's impossible to know how it'll turn out if you don't give them a chance to respond. Anyone would be lucky to call you a friend.

Happy New Year, my darling comrades. May this year treat you better than the last, and this community be a reminder that you're cherished and that you matter.
I'm still waiting for my disability benefit appeal, the last I heard from them they said it would be delayed as they have a backlog. So I still really need help getting food as I have no income. I've written before about how difficult it is to access the local food bank. My overdraft is maxxed out, I'm in debt and have no-one ...
That does suck, and is totally relatable. Sometimes we need that connection from others but also that connection has to be safe and not itself overwhelming. Hopefully you can find a good balance soon.
Insomnia is awful, I'm so sorry you're getting the run around from your doctors for help with the meds, sleep is such a difficult thing to pin down. I hope some good rest is in your future.
You've done yoga before, I think? You can try child's pose, happy baby, sphinx pose, and the yogi squat to start. I also had to do PT that included these exercises after my partial torsion and impacted disc. If you can remember, doing kegels when you brush your teeth can help you get in the habit of doing them twice a day haha
