This is truly a dangerous sign of the times we live in.

Historically, the job of a public prosecutor is to prosecute crime in accordance with the law and without bias. But because so many public prosecutors have resigned over Trump's politicisation of the justice system, the Chief of Staff at the Department of Justice is now trying to hire Trump loyalists to act as prosecutors.

November really is the last chance to stop Trump from driving the US off a cliff.

    In 24 hours we have gone from, "The Epstein files are a hoax" to "Democrats are in the Epstein files, we demand a full investigation".

    How convenient — now Trump can say they are investigating the Epstein files, and then slow walk that investigation forever while ensuring Trump is not investigated. All the while any request for public oversight can be denied on the grounds of there being an ongoing investigation.

    If only The Nobel Committee had a corruption prize Trump could win.

    Trump's Assistant Secretary of The Department of Homeland Security is shocked that when sending armed, masked troops into US cities to bully citizens of a country with more guns than people, eventually citizens fight back.

    This breaks my heart. Civil war is the last thing the US needs, but the Trump regime is deliberately steering straight for it.

    I so hoped the US would find a peaceful way back to democracy, but Trump is incapable of deescalation.

    Fox News host asks Republican Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna if she thinks The Nobel Committee will give Trump a peace prize, and Ms Luna replies:

    The clearances of 37 current and former national security officials were revoked at the direction of President Trump, his director of national intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, said Tuesday. Many of the officials worked on Russia analysis or foreign threats to U.S. elections. Critics have said Mr. Trump has been trying to turn attention to the 2016 election to distract from questions about the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

    At least three current senior officials at various intelligence agencies, all with reputations for nonpartisan work, are among those who lost their clearances and their jobs.

    They included Shelby Pierson, a senior intelligence official who warned Congress about Russian meddling in the 2020 election; a senior C.I.A. analyst currently serving undercover; and Vinh X. Nguyen, a senior National Security Agency data scientist.

    Rescinding security clearances appears to be part of a campaign by Tulsi Gabbard, the director of national intelligence, to reveal what she sees as flaws in intelligence assessments about Russian malign influence operations during the 2016 election. Ms. Gabbard’s attention to that issue has won praise from Mr. Trump, who has long claimed without evidence that the Obama administration tried to undermine him in that vote.
