I wonder if everyone who writes popups of all stripes is cognizant of how many of us just dismiss them all instantly without nary a glance.

‘The fiscal trajectory is not sustainable’: CBO warns about the highest debt in U.S. history as Trump adds $1.4 trillion to 10-year deficit ( fortune.com )

Donald Trump has repeatedly pledged to slash the national deficit and curb debt during his second term, but a sobering assessment of the nation’s financial health by one of the federal government’s premier fiscal watchdogs suggests Trump 2.0’s policies have not only collectively pushed the federal deficit significantly ...

realitista , (edited )

Well how this is supposed to work is to borrow in bad times and pay it back in good. Clinton, to his credit did do this. Trump did the complete opposite in his first term. And the main reason we are in bad times now is because of him.

realitista ,

It's not any more...

realitista ,

That's not how fascism works

realitista ,

Why? Seems pretty accurate to me.

realitista ,

Yeah but I think any win she makes in sports should be qualified by the fact that she was thieving from her teammates and trainers. Those things are a lot more important to know about than her athleticism IMO.

realitista ,

Well it's what I'd rather know about this person. I don't really care how she placed.

realitista ,

I read this as Imgur Defense and thought that that was a surprising pivot.

realitista ,

Meh, whenever I go through spotify looking for the albums I like, about 40% of them aren't even on there. You're better off not bothering with their shite.

realitista ,

You could probably vibe code this.

Badly designed smart homes are bad. It's quite easy to design a smart home that still has light switches but ones which are rarely needed due to the house turning on and off the lights for you for example. Someone just did a bad job on this one. It was probably some building company that just threw in shiny stuff without considering how it would work.

realitista ,

Yes. Lots of people do make bad decisions when designing a smart home. You need to think it through. This is why it's best done by the homeowner. Following a couple rules will get you pretty far though:

  1. Don't install anything that relies on a cloud subscription
  2. Don't install anything that won't continue to function as a "dumb" home if the smarhome functionality breaks.

Not to defend this but you know that if he did, MAGA would have the excuse that this was all a big Democrat hoax. They can't claim that now.

realitista ,

What is that?

realitista ,

With modern potent skunk it would get the job done for me.

realitista ,

Long past time. United we stand, divided we fall.

realitista ,

Yeah the US should be a lot worse in this list than they are. They were just afraid to drop them so many points in a single year.

realitista ,

Not on mine

realitista ,

No, Voyager for iOS.

realitista ,

AFAIK Voyager for iOS is the most popular mobile client.

realitista ,

I wonder if it's somehow not federating between instances?

realitista ,

Interesting. What technology are you using for this pipeline?

realitista ,

Thanks it's really interesting to see some real work applications and implementations of AI for practical workloads.

realitista ,

This is the first real LOL I've had for quite a while, thanks.

realitista ,

Honestly I'm starting to like him just because they hate him so much.

realitista ,

Honestly I don't think he's bad, I'm just not into pop in general. Love Afrocuban and Latin jazz on the other hand.

realitista ,

Unless you suffer from acid reflux in which case the opposite is true.

realitista ,

I've gotten 15 years out of a Miele washer. Dryers are hard once they went condensing, though. Best you can get is just one where you can at least clean the lint out.

realitista ,

Russia, Israel, Pedophile rings, MAGA. Pretty much all evil seems in the world to be aligned and working together.

realitista ,

Not until it's time to invade Taiwan. They are smart enough to be covert.

Recreating uncensored Epstein PDFs from raw encoded attachments ( neosmart.net )

There have been a lot of complaints about both the competency and the logic behind the latest Epstein archive release by the DoJ: from censoring the names of co-conspirators to censoring pictures of random women in a way that makes individuals look guiltier than they really are, forgetting to redact credentials that made it ...

realitista ,

Yeah I read all that and he never even shared any unredacted docs.

realitista ,

Just an invitation to a party?

realitista ,

My favorite post punk band.

realitista ,

Just let these people keep lying under oath and then if we can get a mid term election to flip congress, they'd better prosecute the fuck out of all of them.

realitista ,

Because it's Trump

realitista ,

I just want normal 10TB drives to come down in price.

realitista ,

I guess I have been in enterprise for too long, I thought they meant Session Border Controller. And I was thinking "wow, a Pi can be an SBC?!"

realitista OP ,

Why do you feel you need 10Gbit? I only just upgraded mine to 2.5gbit when I went WiFi 7 and doubt I will even have one endpoint doing that any time in the near future, considering it will max out the wifi router even at that speed. I don't expect multiple at the same time for many many years.

realitista OP , (edited )

I blocked them >:-}.

I have no patience for people who's approach to life is to criticize folks who are doing there best to contribute no matter how small when in most cases they are doing nothing positive whatsoever themselves, just bringing poorly researched accusations of others work.

I'm happy to have a debate based on evidence and research, If the best you can bring is to bring others down with zero effort accusations, there is no value of having you around.

realitista OP ,

I only did 2.5gbit because that's the max my WiFi 7 network could handle. I don't think I will ever max it out in real world usage.

realitista OP ,

Yeah I tend to wait until I could at least hypothetically use it because you pay a big premium to "future proof". 10Gbit is still too pricey for me to roll out.

realitista OP ,

That makes sense. I have a NAS but I use it more for backups

realitista OP ,

Oh I know it's possible, I just don't want to do it, I have enough troubles in my life ;-)

realitista OP ,

I can summarize it for you. No wifi 7 routers support true wifi 7 multi link operation. Some support band switching but also in a limited way. Some are better or worse implemented than others.

realitista OP ,

I stayed on decades old Apple wifi routers until my big upgrade to Wifi 7. I will be here for quite a while.

realitista OP , (edited )

I mean at least batteries is one of the main areas where improvements will make big improvements. Even when GPU's double in power, I can barely see the difference in graphics. For my computers, the only thing that seems to matter any more is how much RAM and disk I have free.. Batteries are something I never have quote enough of, OTOH.

realitista OP ,

Yes, if you want to put all your data on your NAS and access it remotely, it can make good sense. I wouldn't personally do it, but it's a valid reason to do it.

realitista ,

Fair point.
