rather cold and wet for running up the mountain lately but beautiful this afternoon. impressive amount of snow on Mt Hamilton! made for enough contrast to see the observatory, it’s usually much too hazy.

Lumpy southern San Francisco and Bernal in front of a giant estuary and distant snowy mountains
Distant snowy mountains behind an enormous estuary
Distant island mountains at the horizon. Green hills with houses in the foreground

nearly didn’t run up a mountain today because the air quality was crap but then I did and it was great so I ran up another one.

Some floofy trees open up to a distant view of islands at the horizon.
Green hill with humans in front of an enormous radio tower in partly cloudy skies
Two red cranes above a strait with various headlands poking into it toward the horizon

spent the day walking around west of Bishop on a trail I’ve been visiting for over two decades now somehow. summer already long passed at 10000 ft / 3000m.

A narrow lake winds between islands of trees and boulders. A large peak on the right is narrow like a flounder.
Stones cross a shallow but wide stream. Treeless rocky mountains in the distance.
A small dark figure walks down a rocky alley lined by autumnal aspens.

When I was maybe seven years old I made it my mission to figure out how computers work. After many decades it seems unlikely I will ever recover from finding out.
