My huge feature request for all software in general that is used to create or edit anything at all:

Contextual undo/redo!

Let me mark a section of the text, select a section of the image/graphic, highlight a selection of the timeline, or whatever else, and press Ctrl+Z to undo whatever I did within that area!

Instead of having to undo everything I've done until I get to that point and then redo everything else again. This would be a game changer!

You can keep your "AI", I just want this.

Erfaringene fra UK viser at dette vil drepe de små alternativene og få flere til å bruke Facebook og andre utenlandske giganter. Det gir en farlig stor makt over vår kommunikasjon og vår tilgang til informasjon over til noen få aktører under kontroll av myndigheter med antidemokratiske tendenser. By making a legislative tool for backdooring all communication devices and searching them for specific content, that tool can be used for anything, and you are handing the future of Europe over to the worst forces who are willing to use this tool for controlling the populous!     If you have time, I would love to hear your thoughts on something:

    There seems to be a widespread feeling in the Linux community that a lot of standardization between DEs is held back by GNOME: There's a proposal, everyone discusses it, then comes to an agreement and want to move forward implementing it… but Gnome disagrees. The feeling seems to be that Gnome is the only "holdout" in many situations like this. I know…

    I'm very curious to hear your thoughts on this, as someone who is, as you put it, "new to the GNOME community". Have you heard any thoughts on this internally? Do you think the perception is correct, and if so do you think there's any chance of more leniency in the future? As in: Even if Gnome is correct on what would be best, could you still see a possibility of GNOME …

    Wishing for a https://www.goeuropean.org, but for culture. Not for European webstores and services selling/streaming culture, but for actual European films, series, books and music.

    Here are European films in this genre. If you like this US series, try this European one. Etc.

    In the meantime I guess I'll just hope that someone will listen to all the Inspiration Station segments of @europeanspodcast , and give them a list they can put on their website :)

    I was looking for a store for video games that is not based in the USA.

    Itchio, Steam, Epic, Battlenet, Humble are all out.

    But I found out that GOG is based in Poland! https://www.gog.com/en/
    And French Ubisoft also has a games store I didn't know about https://store.ubisoft.com/ie/games

    Still, you know, most of the most well known games are from US companies, but there's lots of great stuff out there, if you're willing to look. Good opportunity to widen your horizon a bit!

    If you need help widening your horizons, every episode of @europeanspodcast ends with a segment where they recommend some cultural work from Europe. Great way to learn about stuff you might want to check out. But I don't think they often recommend video games? Would love to have more of that in this segment of the podcast! :)

    @pixelfed I love it! Diaspora got a ton of money on Kickstarter for creating an alternative to Facebook, and they had not proven themselves as you have, and things are worse now than then. Best of luck!

    This is a crucial issue for the foundations of our free society, yet it comes up again and again and again – and no media seems to cover it at all! I'm sure they do, but almost nothing compared to the extreme importance and danger!

    Even if we won this time it will come up yet again, as it always does, and then we need an informed public who knows about what this is and why it's important.

    Giving some of the enormous areas we have destroyed into farmland back to nature has been something I've dreamed about for a little while. But I thought it was a very far off pipe dream. So it was pretty incredible to hear about Denmark actually doing this on the latest episode of @europeanspodcast .

    Still, I don't know if I can celebrate yet, because one important issue was left untouched: How can they do this?

    I assume Danes still eat and waste as much food as before, and that there hasn't happened anything huge on the international food market I haven't heard of, where food prices arn't an issue and people aren't starving. Have they revolutionized vertical/urban farming tech, so they can replace all this food production internally, or are they just going to produce less, and thus increase international food prices, maybe incentivize more nature destruction elsewhere to compensate?

    These are the q's that needs a's to know if this is actually a huge win for nature, or if it's just yet another example of a rich country exporting their dirty work to poor countries, so they can enjoy the clean air and water and good working conditions, while the smog spewing factories keeps crushing their workers somewhere far away – but just with farms instead of factories this time.

    @dansup Hi. Just jumping on this to say that I tried making a Pixelfed account the other day, and was dismayed to learn that spamgourmet e-mail addresses where blocked. I don't know if it was that specific instance who chose that, or if it's default in Pixelfed, but I don't think it's a good way to stop spammers to block the use of a tool to protect yourself from spam and leaked data. If it's the default I would greatly appreciate it if you would reconsider. Thanks!

    @aral You seem to be a bit harsh here. What could Mozilla have done to not be sued by what seems to be a patent troll? And what alternative location service should Gnome rather move to? I hate Google, but AFAIK there are no real alternative. Have I missed any? Personally I think they should probably rather not have a location service at all rather than use Google, but I can understand that some might think it's necessary to support it.
