I use primarily FOSS tools and often find myself dabbling with QGIS, PostGIS, Geoserver, OpenDroneMap, OpenStreetMap, and various Python libraries.

I recently joined our local Repair Café as a volunteer. It's been great so far.

We want to submit our repairs to RepairMonitor.org. This repository of repairs seems to require a single login for all the volunteers to share which is not ideal.

How does your Repair Café collect and submit this data?

At the beginning of the war in 2022, I helped raise $2000 for Ukraine with 3 art pieces featuring Pres. Zelenskyy, a Ukrainian cat, and a stray Ukrainian dog named Rambo. I wear this t-shirt proudly and will always support the bravery of the Ukrainian people! Slava Ukraini!

Just back from having a wander through the federated timeline

Viggo Mortensen in Cormac Mccarthys The Road. A horrifying unglossy cinematic look at what life will be like in a couple of years. Supermarket trolleys and ski-wear feature heavily. Soap no longer necessary. Here we see the protagonist carrying a gun and all of his worldly possessions whilst walking dirtily down a road. Frankly he looks terrible.

I like your analogy about the ocean. I've often compared joining Mastodon to wandering into the cafeteria in a new school. I easily found some nerds who were happy to have me sit with them, then met many other kind, curious and thoughtful people. Like all school cafeterias, bullies and self-promoters come and go. Let's make sure we're welcoming to those who are shy and uncertain.
