Nostalgia is different for all of us.

I feel nostalgic for the Transformers cartoons and Marvel comics so I watch Bayverse & MCU movies today.

Elon feels nostalgia for the racist apartheid of his childhood in South Africa so he’s bringing it to America.

The idea that Donald Trump was a temporary anomaly in American politics that will go back to normal when he’s gone is sadly mistaken. He is a symptom, not the cause.

He recognized that 40% of the electorate loves white supremacy and if you throw in homophobia/transphobia and low taxes, you could get up to 50%.

Now the masks are off and they aren’t going back on.

People find my posts confusing because they can’t tell if I’m anti-AI or pro-AI. To me that’s like asking if I’m anti-internet or pro-internet.

It’s a tool that can be used to build great things and also create terrible outcomes. We wouldn’t have Trump without the internet but I’m not anti-internet.

University of California campuses saw computer science enrollment drop -6% this year. With tech companies fully embracing senior engineers using AI over college hires, this is the logical result.

We’re going to be starved of a pipeline of software engineers in the future. Unless you believe AI has fully commodified software development.

Not sure which stat blows me away more. That Donald Trump's name shows up more times in the Epstein Files (38K) than Harry Potter's does in the Harry Potter books (~19K) or that Joe Rogan has had more guests that were named in the Epstein Files (10+) than he's had Black women guests (~5).

As Amazon lays off another 16,000 employees, here a relevant insightful analysis of the current state of AWS.

The company is catching up in AI and Google Cloud’s rise is more troubling than Azure’s growth which seems more like financial engineering.

But a major risk is loss of institutional knowledge between people quitting and layoffs. AI can’t replace decades of experience.

Tesla's robotaxis crash at 10x the rate of human drivers.

Last month, Tesla confirmed the fleet had traveled roughly 250,000 miles. With 7 reported crashes at the time, Tesla’s Robotaxi was crashing roughly once every 40,000 miles (extrapolating from the previously disclosed Robotaxi mileage).

For comparison, the average human driver in the US crashes about once every 500,000 miles.

A California judge has ruled that Tesla naming its features Autopilot and Full Self-Driving is deceptive. The state can now suspend Tesla's sales and manufacturing for 30 days as punishment.

Elon Musk has signaled he will do none of the above.
