Absolutely no joke. I'm kind of surprised that the guy who was convicted of bribery dropped out.

TxTechnician ,

You'd have to be a registered party member to vote. Most voters are not registered party members.

Like me, I don't like either party. And always vote for the lesser of the two evils. So this next election I'm voting for James talrico in the primary. Which means I'm voting Democrat.

The goal is to lock down their current maga politicians. Before midterms.

Because a large part of the USA is pissed about their reps sniffing trumps ass.

TxTechnician ,

Be more specific in what you're looking for. I'm using software right now to post on Lemmy.

TxTechnician ,

Anyone got thoughts on this?

TxTechnician ,

So.... Fraud. But how, and who all does it benefit. Surely the sales tax far exceeds the rebates. So Canada is probably fine.

TxTechnician OP ,

Similar to the first point 'Christian' is just the family name, I think what you're trying to describe are 'Christian nationalists', with emphasis on nationalist.

OK that's right. I suppose it's better to describe them as Christian nationalist rather than giving up the word.

But that doesn't dissuade from the fact that Christian now has a horrible smell about it.

TxTechnician OP ,

Labels allow expedient understanding of a philosophy, concept, belief system, etc. They're not pointless.

I need to clarify what I mean by this.

In the context of what I am thinking about the use of labels, I mean whenever people use labels to describe their out group, they use them as a dismissive tool.

For example, if you are not 100% pro-Trump and you say anything negative about Trump or his administration to somebody who has died in the wool, they will call you a liberal.

It has gotten to the point where anything that you say will get you labeled as woke or a liberal. So long as it is something that goes against magga and Christian nationalism.

Therefore, the political term liberal is all but meaningless.

Because it doesn't hold a unified definition across the aisles.

Besides this, political labels as a whole are mostly bullshit because people use them to describe themselves as being part of a group. But whenever you question them as an individual, you find out that they don't align with a lot of the shit that other people who use that political label ascribe to.

Scientology taught me that lie detectors are fake. We should use E Meters instead

TxTechnician ,

I knew that thing was B's the moment I saw their demo.

TxTechnician ,

Was it actually a TED Talk or was it one of those TED X talks?

TxTechnician ,

They've had a few crappy ones. There was chicken soup for the soul guy.

Got a 502 error

https://github.com/wewewe718/QrAndBarcodeScanner

It's available on F Droid.

I really like this app, like it just works really well and it also allows you to generate barcodes too.

TxTechnician ,

That's weird. I just tried to make a QR code and save it as an image and it worked just fine for me.

Pqyhogens and infections don't just effect the unvaccinated person.

Allowing people to contract it is what allows for it to mutate get stronger and spread.

Ever played plauge inc?

TxTechnician ,

I know that the system monitor app that's included in KDE has a pretty extensive custom page tracking option.

You can open it up and then put in a whole bunch of like settings in a new page and track pretty much every metric that your computer has.

TxTechnician ,

Really? Why not?

I find them incredibly useful for some applications.

For some development stuff, though, I still prefer to use the installed version.

So VS Code, for example, I have that installed.

The flat pack just does not work as well.

But Podman Desktop, which is a flat pack, is just excellent.

TxTechnician ,

Oh that makes sense.

TxTechnician ,

Dependencies are contained in the flatpak. That's why something like zenmap. Which requires python 2. Can run on a system that doesn't have python 2 installes

TxTechnician ,

I battled that for about a year and then ditched Debian based diatros altogether.

OpenSUSE ftw

TxTechnician ,

OpenSUSE Tumbleweed

Install a tool called opi

Then run opi codecs to install the codecs you need.

TxTechnician ,

Fucking awesome

TxTechnician ,

I think the best viable option for them is to either offer a subscription model. Or increase requests for donations.

I tried gnome for a bit. I really liked the workflow. But the over simplification of the interface just killed me.

I got tired of it. And took the things I like from gnome and implemented them in plasma. (Swipe for virtual desktops for example)

    TxTechnician ,

I got a local loud mouth who listens to Infowars

I just assume the opposite of what he says is true. So far it's working

    TxTechnician ,

I tried it a few years ago. Ditched it because it's just another chromium browser.

Firefox has been my main for about 6 years now.

I fell for it because Al Swiegerts book: "Automate the boring stuff" used it in the webscrape sample.

After that I just kept using it. And felt justified in my choice when I realized the only other browsers left are chrome and Safari.

I just learned that Safari is a fork on Konquorer. So, that's interesting.

Huawei Harmony OS is multi kernel.

In the sense that it can run android Linux and I think . Exe files. Kinda cool tbh. Not sure if this is in the same boat as the projects you mentioned.

Too bad the sale of these is banned in the USA. I really want to try out the os.

XPipe - A connection hub for all your servers: Status update for the v14 release

I'm proud to share a major development status update of XPipe, a new connection hub that allows you to access your entire server infrastructure from your local desktop. XPipe 14 is the biggest rework so far and provides an improved user experience, better team features, performance and memory improvements, and fixes to many ...

    TxTechnician ,

That looks pretty cool. I use an rmm called level right now. It works well for windows clients. But for vps Linux. It has problems.

So I just stopped using it for that.

I've seen things like cockpit and OpenSUSE rancher. Which have the added benefit of managing containers.

As a business. I'm good with paying for a product. Because it will get funding and support. The only reason I'm even considering rancher or cockpit is because RHEL and Suse have interests in keeping the projects maintained.

I'll check your project out when I get time.

    TxTechnician ,

In the file manager demo, were you able to just click to open a remote file and it opened in vscode locally?

    TxTechnician ,

Well that was interesting to read
