bookstodon@a.gup.pe icon bookstodon group Book purchase snafu that may happen to you:

I ordered a two volume book set with a slipcase. The bookseller sent me only one volume. What happened is that both volumes of the set have the same ISBN, which is how the order is pulled. They do not have the other volume. They refunded my money and I was glad for the explanation, but I wanted to make you all aware of this problem.

If you buy a collectible set, make sure you are purchasing from a reliable seller who will guarantee your satisfaction with even third party sellers, in case anything goes wrong. I do hope they removed the listing.

This was Thriftbooks, btw. I don't think that this was entirely their fault. They refunded my money and told me to keep the book, so I'm okay with the company, though I'm reticent to ever order collectibles through them ever again.

@kimlockhartga bookstodon@a.gup.pe icon bookstodon group Interesting, I ran into a similar issue with an older book that I wanted, the link to the book had multiple options and they kept changing the face of the book depending on the book's condition. but continued saying it was the same book.I think I got the one I wanted. I will have to wait and see when it arrives.

Sick of supersized EVs? The 2025 Hyundai Kona Electric hits the spot.
It's not too big, it's not too heavy, and it's very, very efficient.

@arstechnica I have a Hyundai Elantra Hybrid, it's a nice car, but Hyundais are glitchy vehicles. Little minor issues that can be annoying. For example, every once in a while mine forgets its configuration of my dash choice, the HVAC, and mileage tracking. No one can seem to figure out why. It happens across several of their vehicles. I hear the Kona has the same problem. It's not a deal breaker, but just an annoyance when it happens. Like resetting my dash so I can have the digital MPH...

Hey, I'm giving you all a virtual hug today. It's okay to feel overwhelmed and scared right now. This is hard, and no one has all the answers. So, I'm just going to up open it up to speak your fears, to share hope, to share links for petitions or protests, if you just want somewhere to put your thoughts right now, and be heard, then go for it. If not, I'm thinking of all of you, I care about your future. I love you all.

Okay, this is possibly going to be controversial in some quarters, but it has to be said for the good of the Fediverse:

Mastodon.social is not a good way to join Mastodon. If you're already on mastodon.social, you might want to move your account to another server. I've done an article about this topic at:

If you want to move your account, there's a complete step-by-step guide to how to do it here:

RegGuy ,
@RegGuy@mastodon.world avatar

@FediTips I created this account on M.S and found that it wasn't a good place to be for a few reasons.

  1. Too many people spam follow
  2. It was paternal in how it kept filtering users' access to my account
  3. At times it slowed to a crawl

I moved to M.W and am fine.

I deleted my pretty big account also on M.W because it had my real full name.

I get fewer followers, but no harassment.
