I've been building apps under the "Accessi" name. AccessiWeather, AccessiSky, and more in the works.

Accessibility shouldn't be a brand. It should just be how software works.

Rebranding starts today. First up: Portkey Drop, an SFTP/FTP client with full keyboard navigation and screen reader support. No wands required, just Ctrl+V. Free, Open Source, and simple UI. No official release yet, but the install heading in the readme gives you a step-by-step command checklist to help me test from source.

AccessiWeather nightly is out. Added the Prism screen reader absraction library along with a new feature - Weather assistant. Chat with your selected AI model in settings about the weather in your locaions list. I also added function calling so AccessiWeaher can be agentic. It should be able to add locations for you, location search, among other things. Prism library enables automatic sending/receiving messages between you and your selected model. OpenRouter free models seem unreliable for the function calling stuff, so be warned there. Very much in testing.

@kev @JamminJerry How good are they with uptime? Sure, send it to me and see what I could do. I wish NOAA published the whole country as streams so all coverage is covered.

Orinks OP ,

@kev @JamminJerry Thanks, will take a look at this.

@JamminJerry @kev I had a radio once before that probably no longer works, got it from radio shack when they sold radios. Wonder what good ones are around these days.

The irony of all this server moving is that it totally wor @nick out. Sonic Onslaught is canceled as a result, Nick will not be the first person to do a show on the new stack. That will be @Liz , tomorrow.

@radio What's the recommended way on smart speakers, including Sonos?

What is the best Python library for sending messages to a screen reader? I like Sral for games but on the other hand, it requires too many deps just to have screen readers read stuff as it comes in automatically. Accessible Output 2 fits the bill for something like this? If not, suggestions please?

Dang. Is it worth using accessibleapps/installer_builder2? I can get a Mac build to complete in about 20 minutes, but a Windows build? 30+ minutes and counting.

I just added the ability, on the accessiweather dev branch, to select the Open-Meteo weather model. They have 11 different models to choose from which use specific providers depending on country/region. Aimed more at international users where perhaps the default model selected by Open-Meteo doesn't fit the bill.

I am now running FastSM. Yay. I guess I don't need to make my own client now, which I actually thought about doing.

AccessiWeather v0.4.1 is out! Mac users, your weather app is finally here. This release brings secure API key storage, better performance with 80%+ fewer API calls, and flexible time display options. download it now.

Please note that the Mac build has received limited testing, but I know it works well. Due to a security vulnerability in previous versions, they are no longer available for download.
