Unlike mascots, fursuits tend to be form-fitted to the person who they are made for, built to be used by that one person and viewed up close. Unlike costumes, fursuits tend to be a highly personal self-expression, with the wearer investing into the ability to physically inhabit their fursona.

We're trying to not simply outwardly display an appearance of being some character we are not, but to simulate some part of the experience of actually being a character who is supposed to be us on some level: a is a high level form of self-expression.

Since you specified "for my fursona", I had to answer human->animal since I don't think there's any realistic way she in particular would be able to go the other way. In general, though, I find animal->human provides much more interesting opportunities. I'm a fan of xenofiction. Extreme bodymodders certainly provide great opportunities for the worldbuilding and story as well, but if you give me the chance to try twisting my mind into a non-human viewpoint, I'm going to take it.

The official Mastodon app doesn't let you pin posts yet, but you can do this by logging in on your server's website or by using a third party app.

By the way, you might want to switch to a third party app anyway as they tend to be much better than the official apps. On iPhone/iPad some good third party apps are Ice Cubes, Mona, Ivory for example.

If anyone is looking for a / alternative, for their / experiences, or you're interested in VR stuff, you should really try to join and at least get your avatar set up and all that in the next few days. I can't give details but they're expecting a rapid influx of users very soon: servers may be slow and the people who can help you will be spread thin when that happens.

Some major updates have been coming out over the past few months, so if you tried it before and there was a bug, you might want to try it again. Framerates are also expected to keep rising, because the engine is still in an unoptimized development state.
