    The European Left Alliance has just now launched an ECI: A European Citizen's Initiative to demand . It's similar to a petition, and legally binding if the goal of 1.000.000 signatures is reached. The EU has to act if we share this enough!

    We demand a full suspension of the EU-Israel Association Agreement, which is the cornerstone of EU-Israel bilateral trade, economic, and political cooperation.

    This is the face of the ICE agent who just shot a U.S. citizen. Musk is already spreading lies that she was a threat to people and was driving them over. That's of course not true, but it's what he needs to say to continue manufacturing consent for ICE's kidnappings.

    On 7th of January 2005 German police burned Oury Jalloh alive behind closed doors, lied about it, and to this day got away with it.

    21 years later, on 7th of January 2026, American ICE agents killed Renee Good in front of multiple cameras, immediately lied about it, and made the whole world repeat that lie, despite us seeing the execution of a U.S. citizen in front of our eyes.

    The final nail in the coffin, the final straw of humiliation, is not even having the decency to make up a good lie. Suddenly the nicest women on earth can become a violent killer trying to run people over, and the actual violent masked killer present turns into this heroic figure simply trying to protect people.

    She was at the wrong time in the wrong place, not even part of any protest. Suddenly, people like her become 'activists' (e.g. “activist judges”) even though they are teachers, journalists, public workers, or just at the wrong time in the wrong place.

    You're not a violent “activist” because you are one, you become one when it's needed to justify the government killing you.

    Make a group of people synonymous with crime, suddenly their subjugation becomes justice. Even if she was an activist or an immigrant, even if she didn't act right in that moment, even if she was one of the protestors, nothing justifies her killing. The fact the U.S. government already created the public basis to disregard anyone's death or opinion if they are “antifa”, “immigrants”, “transgender”, “woke”, or simply an “activist” (whatever that means) is clearly wrong, especially because they can extend these labels and apply them to you, so your death no longer matters in the public eye.

    The famous “First They Came” Niemöller poem is sometimes incorrectly reduced to say “first they came for the socialists” instead of “first they came for the communists”, which I strongly disagree with, as the usage of the word communist was a specific decision, as that term describes a group that people instinctively didn't care about at the time.

    Take a group and make it so people instinctively won't care about them, such as immigrants, “activists”, communists, muslims (“terrorists”, “jihadists”, “islamists”). Then, begin expanding that definition.

    To fascist Laura Loomer you're a communist if you have pronouns in your bio, and she doesn't care about dead communists. After all, they're criminals, inherently they must be and hence any action against them is justified. Make a group of people synonymous with crime and then their subjugation can be framed as justice.

    Renée Good had kids and never even participated in any protest. But she's a communist and deserved to die, right? After all, who cares for dead communists?

    Remember, not so long ago the same people told us we need to mourn Charlie Kirk, and anyone mocking his death, or even just pointing out the fact that his death was the result of the world he created, was subsequently fired from their job.

    A tweet by Laura Loomer saying “I don't care about dead communists. Who cares? Why do we have to pretend like all life is equal? It's not. Especially when you're a dead criminal. I don't care who this offends. It's the truth.”

    @Gargron In all honestly I wonder how Mastodon operates. To me, it seems like however many plushies you order from wherever you're ordering them from, you should just get more. If a singular purchase makes a profit, isn't more better? Or are there tax reasons not to do this? Or do you never expect to sell this many?

    @Gargron I know it's rich asking this as an outsider, I wouldn't know how much budget there even is for this and maybe you were going off sales numbers from last year. I guess I'd just be interested in knowing why this happened, not because I'm disappointed (I got mine hehe) but because there seems to be people wanting to buy them and you presumably being interested in selling them (unless this would make you lose nonprofit status or something)

    Rückweisungen an der Außengrenze und Vollsanktionen für Menschen die abhängig sind von Sozialleistungen: dann anderen Leuten erklären wollen wer Verfassungsfeind ist?

    Fast schon so als sei die „freiheitlich demokratische Grundordnung” und der Verfassungsschutz ein Mittel um den Status quo zu erhalten, nicht wirklich um Menschenrechte zu schützen. Man merkt wie diese Institutionen bei Rechtsextremen nie wirken, doch bei Linken sofort.

    We will use a generally held belief, such as being against dictators, yet only act on it selectively, when in reality what truly determines our dislike of a nation, its ideology, and its people, is when it's a threat to our geopolitical interests, in other words, our profit motive.

    How vile to be the main nation behind couping democratically elected leaders and installing military dictators in the Middle East, South America, and Asia, to have build and defended slave colonies, apartheid, as well as orchestrated genocides, only to then use criticism of a nation and leader to justify its bombing. It's called the manufacturing of consent for our war efforts, it doesn't get more complex than that.

    Interesting how the United States of America built and backed Cuba as a slave colony, yet nobody ever heard Batista be called a dictator, or that fact be seen as an issue worrying enough to start a war, to infiltrate, or sanction. So when the topic of discussion is the blockade against Cuba, the bombing and current war efforts against Venezuela, or any nation the US is meddling in, is it fair to begin speaking of the legitimacy of that nation's government, or is that a derailment of the conversation?

    The bombs will hit more silently, when the people think they're aimed at a dictator, and nobody will care to ask whether life improves after the bombs, and nobody will raise the point that bombs have never been the path to peace. After all, why are you supporting a dictator?

    Just a few hours ago, the U.S. military seized an oil tanker from Venezuela headed to Cuba. I'm so glad the U.S. is finally fighting against these dictators and this isn't just a continuation of the cold war.

    A short while ago I was allowed to visit a long term nuclear waste storage facility, built to hold low and mid tier radioactive material for geological time (hundreds of thousands to a few million years).

    I entered early in the morning and got into an elevator driving me 800 meters deep, with the complex tunnel system we toured going up to a kilometer down from the surface. I came up in the late afternoon a changed man due to what I've seen.
