Nfc payments keep me chained. I guess i can get a second phone just for setting up a watch, but i don't want a watch. So i live by not using the default launcher and a vpn. I'm working to change my email provider slowly
had my doubts about it, but it worked! though i had a bunch of sim connection problems, worked after few reboots. multiple sims management is ass (at least on my samsung phone). i can't turn-off one SIM and work with the other, the internet tab ui in settings just starts lagging ( and my connection goes out the window). i have ...
Recently I was talking with people about how I watch TNG, DS9, Voyager, Picard, Lower Decks and people point if I'm a trekkie, and to be honest I don't feel like a fan of Star Trek despite is mostly the only series I care to watch apart of Avatar Aang/Korra. ...
You can get by with just watching a few of the movies from the original series cast. If you want to get more back story then watch the show. There are episode lists for the original series that likely make it more digestible, but if you watched ds9, did you try to watch "The trouble with tribbles"? That's the episode the ds9 cast goes to.
I like enterprise over strange new worlds.
I think being a trekkie is not black and white. There are levels of fandom you will likely never reach, which of fine. I consider my self a Trekkie by the definition of I'll watch nearly anything star trek related (sorry the new kids show is a pass) and will get excited when i can talk to anyone about star trek.
Until now I've had fedora, opensuse and arch. I don't really like arch nowadays, so I was thinking more of a fedora cinnamon or LXQT. Opensuse is okay I guess. Any suggestions?
Since Discovery, despite the Star Trek writers repeatedly beating us over the head with this, I still somehow didn't catch onto the pattern. If there is a through-line to all the new shows, the notion that acknowledging one's own vulnerability is a sign of individual strength, and that showing support when others are being ...
Where i live alcohol isn't available in the grocery store. So I basically stopped because I was too lazy to go too a separate store for something I didn't really need. There are sooo meny other drinks available now that taste wonderful with no alcohol.

Air fryer, i got it for around $20 at bestbuy. I haven't used my gas range in years. I ended up getting a bigger over for 45 recently to make larger meats without having to cut them. I get the bella pro brand. They are certainly nothing fancy, but very high value for the amount of cooking I've done in them. Pork tenderloin, perfect.

While I love a good debate episode of start trek, this one was a missed opportunity to make parallel to some current event. Good otherwise and agree with others that the end was eh, but I'll take it.
Sorry, I referred to car features that we really need. Before 2020 we had functional car interiors that everyone knew had to use and were pretty safe. I haven't seen much innovation that has helped beyond moving all controls to the glued on iPad behind a subscription.
The PS3 is still just a bluray player in my eyes, I don't remember too many people getting one for gaming at the time it was released.
For hdmi to Rca, i just got something chap on Amazon. You can get crazy and go down a rabbit hole, but it worked fine for running my Chromecast and laptop on a crt.

First episode was a bit rough at the start, but the second and third are pretty decent. While this isn't really trekking beyond the campus right now, I just wonder where this show will go at it progresses.
Episode three is definitely strong (so far) and keeps pace with the end of episode two. I like that there are a few extras on the team at the end of the episode. Are we getting some red shirts ready? 😃
Tou story 2 is pretty great. Beauty and the beast is a nearly perfect movie. Bolt is really good as well... I'm going to have to say The Incredibles is my favorite.
IDK it's hard to have a favorite Disney movie especially if we include Touchstone pictures... Then Starship Troopers
I wanted to share that i was able to get my CD copies of SimCity and SimCity 3000 running on Linux using Lutris to run the installer and configure wine. I can't believe that Linux has become the way to run old 16/32 bit applications originally designed for Windows. Love it
AI is my coding companion as there are so few devs I can discuss my coding problems with due to their lack of understanding. The AI maybe wrong at times, but just toasing ideas back and forth gets my gears turning. It's my evolved coding duck.

I can be considered Trekkie or just a viewer?

back to distrohopping. I want a reliable OS (no rando ubuntu fork with no clear release/support schedule) with something else than Plasma or Gnome.

The recent Star Trek series are often criticized for "not being woke enough", but I've come to feel the envelope they are pushing is much more radical, bolder, and important to our specific time...
