Sen #MarkKelly sues #Pentagon over punishment for warning troops of illegal orders
Kelly, a former Navy pilot, is seeking to block his censure from #Defense Secy #PeteHegseth last week. #Hegseth announced last Monday that he censured Kelly over the former Navy pilot’s participation in a video that called on #troops to resist #unlawful orders.
Someone pointed out that sending #troops from one #US#state into another state against the will of the citizens of that second state is an act of "Federalized #CivilWar".
“I got no call. And I got no call all afternoon, all evening, & I have not received a call at all. It turns out that #PeteHegseth was at a football game, & he was doing push-ups as part of a show of Guinness Book of World Records. So he was out having fun after saying that he was going to call me & didn’t. And they’re sending #troops while he’s going to a football game, & ignoring what he should have been doing.”#JBPritzker said in an interview Tues.
‘Wildly underprepared’: #NationalGuard troops sleeping on floors
The #troops — whose makeshift quarters are shown in photographs exclusively obtained by the Chronicle — arrived WITHOUT federal funding for #food, #water, #fuel, #equipment or #lodging, said the source, who was granted confidentiality under SF Chronicle policies. This person said #state ofcls & the #California National Guard were not to blame.
Photos obtained by the Chronicle show California National Guard troops deployed by the Trump administration to Los Angeles packed together in what appear to federal building basements or loading docks. The source who provided the photo said they redacted the name of one soldier that appeared in this photo.
Hardly anyone in western governments even seems to be aware of the dynamics of military technology development.
